The XR550cc -
CV 51 carb
XR1000 cams and exhausts - together for certain power bands for certain tracks.
12:1 compression standard
XB heads but set up to rev to 14,000rpm - though they say they keep it between 6000 and 7000 rpms the track
Buell Stroked crank - square engine?
280lbs aprox.
60 to 70 hp - depending on which cam/exhaust set up they are using
37.something ft. lbs. of torque - seems they build for hp and tune for torque.

Buy a C&J frame, contact NHRS and Falicon Cranks, use a CV 42 carb - you could build a streetable version with almost as much HP and even more torque - not that pricey - Definately a cool project!

PICS!
Looks like NHRS is the the tuning side of the house. Is C&J still doing the blast frame ?
I have the chance to pick up a cheap used R/E blast. Thinking it needs 21 inch knobbies, DRZ600 front end, and TALL shock for dirt skootin boogey.

Then I can start to pollute the Blastin side of the house with muddy bike pics.

C&J is now owned by Red Feather, still makes frames on a by order business, about the cost of a used Blast -
http://www.vft.org/
also flattrack.com - that stuff pops up once in a while - where never a lot of them out there - because of class differences in different areas, it was hard to garner points, unless you where the HD team, and they where too old school to develop the Blast, using straight off the shelf XR pieces and adapting from there, this left the rest of the Blast competitors no place to shop - the British made one was the best I'd seen done - 19" wheels - hmmm - 21"? - wow!

if the motor was rubber mounted instead of solid mounted, it would be a sweet ds conversion.

I'm sure they could work the current mounting system into their frame - they do do custom work regularly.
