New one for me! New Blast (in shop) melted clutch cable when trying to start. I believe that the engine ground is suspect & the starter was getting it's ground through the clutch cable. Looked for the ground to the engine and couldn't find it. Battery ground goes to frame & then out on smaller wire but couldn't find where the engine gets it's ground. Any ideas where the engine ground connection is? Thanks,,, De

The engine is grounded through a ground cable that is attached to the frame at the left engine isolator retaining bolt that goes through the frame to the grounding lug at the left side of the "DO NOT REMOVE BRACKET" that is attached to the head.

AKA: near the horn bracket. Although any engine to frame ground would do.
Clutch cable heating up is the classic sign of a bad ground-good work!

Yep, almost new Blast & ground strap was O K but it's connection was corroded where it attached to the head. Couldn't see it without taking the tank off. Thanks again, your info saved the tech a lot of time. I rode a friends new Blast the other day & I miss mine, guess I'll have to do with my S3T (friend liked the S3T also).
Later,,, De
