I have the Givi N30 I think it is. It's about $100 for the universal givi bracket, and about $125 for the case itself. Locks, holds my helmet, and groceries. | ||

I am looking over some scooter hard luggage that is pretty universal (since scooters vary so much) because I would like to have something that is tougher than the current bags and locks (rather than using a small keyed padlock). If I pull the trigger on them I will post pics and reviews! | ||

I gave up on the hard luggage after discovering that Nelson Rigg makes bags that are 17x9x14 (model CL-850) which is slightly larger than the hard bags I found (they ran 17x7x12). The prices were similar so I ordered the soft bags instead of spending my time fabricating hard bag mounts. Anyway, if you're still interested you can find quite a few universal hard bags on eBay. Search under "JK033" or "JK055". | ||

The Nelson Rigg bags arrived today and here are some shots of them on the bike (sorry for the flash glare - still using the BlackBerry until I find my camera). Not pictured is the duffel bag-sized tail bag that connects across the top of the saddle bags. The stiffeners in the saddle bags make them just as cool as hard bags imho. I'll let you know how they road test over time (not sure how much riding is left here in Colorful Colorado - we've already had snow once).    | ||

What, and clean out my garage?!?!? I'll put one up tomorrow. Used them today for work and was very happy with the capacity. Current issue: The back strap rides too low to be used as it would hit the tire. | ||

The side shot probably doesn't get you what you're looking for but here's a close-up from the rear. The neoprene backing sits against the belt guard and touches the belt sprocket when leaning. After 60+ miles there doesn't appear to be any wear on the neoprene yet. If I start to see wear I figured that I would either adapt or fabricate some small bag brackets to push the bags out from the sides of the bike a bit more. Look for more updates in the spring as riding season here is rapidly coming to a close. You can also see how low the backstrap buckle is and why I haven't been using it. . .   | ||

I've seen the pulley cover wear through the belt guard first, then into the bags. Just an FYI for something to watch out for. My bad for not explaining: I wanted a side/profile shot of the whole bike to see the relative size of the bags on the Blast. That gives me a better idea of how big the bags really are compared to the size of the Blast. The pic in the last shot is what I wanted, but of the whole bike. Sorry to be a pain  You're interested in size only, others will be interested in looks too. The Blast/Buell XB/Chase harper bags look good on the Blast and in the right proportion, but dont hold a lot of gear. | ||

It's not a pain at all! Your point about the belt guard is well taken and something I will keep an eye on. For commuting that's my "light" bag with my rain gear, extra gloves, and clear helmet shield so there's no real weight on it. The left bag (when sitting) holds my laptop bag and the stuff I need for work. I have a smaller set of Eclipse bags as well but had a really hard time taking my laptop and everything else with me - I had to load both bags and the tailpack to carry everything so I wanted something larger and came across these when I was looking at hard bags. Given what you said (and have seen) I will think about building some support brackets over the winter. Here's a more complete side pic (tire changer and Pirellis (hidden) in the background for next weekend's project).   | ||

There are a few non Blast bikes running around here with surplus army ammo boxes for saddle bags. You can mount them a with a section of pipe and a long bolt, bolt the bottom corner to the rear peg mount make solid mount with no interference problems. the boxes comes in different sizes for what you want. just a little ingenuity and mechanical skill and you are ready to go. | ||

No, the picture I really wanted.....just kidding!!! THOSE are some big bags! Definitely touring bags and if you load them to capacity they'll need an extra brace/support. I think Slowhand built some nice, simple supports for his, but I dont doubt you're equally as handy! Thanks. | ||

Thanks Erik - I needed a laugh! Work has been a real drag lately. . . UPDATE: After 250 miles the neoprene is starting to wear slightly on the belt side and I will be constructing some brackets to prevent further wear. The wear has not yet touched the bag (which is the primary reason I left the neoprene on). The wear was not where I was expecting it to appear and I would not have noticed if I hadn't removed the bags to dry my seat following my 16 mile soaking last night. The wear was higher up and appears to be from the rubbing of the backstrap buckle and webbing against the belt guard rather than rubbing against the pulley. So, if you buy them be prepared to fabricate/purchase a bracket that will keep the belt side further from the belt!
