Hey guys, I've got an '02 Blast that isn't starting for me. Two days ago, I had it idling for 3 minutes before taking off. Before I could take off, the engine kicked off. I haven't been able to start it since. I've tried push starting it with no luck. I've also recharged the battery and replaced the spark plug with no luck. It's been running great up until now. Let me know if anybody has any ideas. Thanks! | ||

Check intake manifold coupling - das boot - replace if possible - also make sure front and rear grounds are clean and tight and whole, the safety switches - kick stand and clutch could be fubaring you also, try over-riding and see what happens. Make sure plug wire is firmly installed as well. EZ | ||

Thanks EZ. I'll pick up the coupler today and try the kick stand switch tonight. You mentioned the clutch... what exactly about the clutch? | ||

Got the bike running. It was "das boot". It somehow wiggled itself loose. Thanks for the advice, EZ! | ||

A backfire can work it loose! I didn't tighten one of the hose clamps quite tightly enough, and it worked itself loose enough to make the carburetor backfire, which popped off and punched me in the leg. I coasted to a stop and pushed it back on. Later, I tightened the clamp, and it hasn't backfired since! My spare boot is still on standby ... |
