TK, that hind end looks great!
Could you post some more pictures of it, its the best one I have seen in a while!
There is just so much potential for the Blast if you have the ability to do it.

The Suburu WAS just about to be airborn.

Another shop bike, he get home, "man is that thing bad with the brakes, take it for a ride"

Front brakes had oil on them.

suzi

heavy on the bars like a Ducati, but had the crazy rev thing going on being an inline twin, the carbs were not jetted for the pipes or there was an intake leak because it would rev up and not want to come back.

BTW the Little Kids GEO Metro Convertible is in the background, the "Barbie Car" because it is pink! He was borrowing the pickup to move his friend from Korea to Wheaton, IL for college.(You know what I mean...right?)

Bike wreck...a curve snuck up on me, I hit the rear brake, skidded off road, hit a concrete culvert/driveway bike landed on top of me. The bike is fine, only cosmetic stuff, but I have all kinds of screws and titanium in my ankle. Fun stuff. Cant decide if I want to keep riding or not. Any encouragement out there? Or should I give it up?

Get back on that horse! It is merely a life lesson to integrate. Be ruthlessly hard on yourself about what you can learn from the incident. Don't take the attitude that there was nothing you could have done to prevent it, there is, even if it was merely a choice of when and where to ride. I know I learned that my reflex when confronted with the left turning cager needed to be improved.

It depends - was that really you in the pic you posted? If so, I would hate for you to suffer further injury. Also, the world needs as many pretty girls like you as possible, so I don't think you should ride anymore.

...unless you have logical reason(s) to believe you'll be reasonably safe in the future - reasons like:

You live in Kansas or someplace where all the roads are straight & flat, except for the ONE curve that got you, so now that you've "learned your lesson" about where that ONE curve is, you'll be safe.

or

You were riding while drunk or otherwise impaired, and have now "learned your lesson" about that.

or

You were riding too fast, and have now "learned your lesson" about that.

or

You're a new rider and were riding beyond your level of ability, and have now "learned your lesson" about that and will be taking steps to improve your skills safely.

or

That pic you posted was actually your really hot looking friend. If so, I hope you've learned your lesson!!!
...and please tell her I said hello...

I would get back on. I did, and it is the best thing I did. It took me a while to make right hand turns without worrying if I was going to fall again. But three years later I am still riding and I love it. : )

GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE!!! Oops... Wrong cinematic experience, sorry. Thankfully, (knock on wood) all of my ejections from a 2 wheeled vehicle have been while offroad. I'll always remember how my little brother urged me to get back on after I dumped his KDX450 the first time. (Evil bike, things like 26 years old, typical 2 stroke powerband that hits like a prizefighter, handles like ITS had too many to drink, Ah, good times) He asked if I was ok, then said "If you don't get back on your a (insert word for female reproductive part here.) Now, I won't go THAT far, but I will say that if you enjoy riding enough that you talk about it all the time on a forum full of dudes that till recently thought you were a dude, you'll be selling yourself short if you don't get back on. BTW, get well soon, leg injuries are bad news.

Get back on at least once, then decide if you want to continue riding. If you doubt your abilities then take some riders courses, MSF and/or track instruction.

I have a list of chronic pain from injuries sustained, resulting arthritis (already), frequent migraines and brain damage (hopefully not permanent), I still ride. Personal choice. Motorcycling is like sex and I'm not willing to give up either yet (even though my wife would like me too)!

I still flinch when someone wants to turn in front of me.

Funny or maybe not so funny story: I was driving a friend home who about a year before my accident, lost his leg in similar accident (oncoming driver), and there we were and a truck veers into our lane, head on. It was surreal to say the least.

TK,

After my recent bike wipe, I picked up "Proficient Motorcycling" by David Hough. Its an excellent read. Really does a great job of pointing out some of my bad habits, like using the rear brake too much, etc. It really helps you understand the physics, etc, with what makes a motorcycle do what it does, and why, and how to control it. It's like $14 on Amazon, and easily read.

Don't give up now TK...everybody crashes at some point some worse than others...but...you have already had yours. Practice, practice...get some armor and a good pair of riding boots..there is a local husband/wife dragrace team I know well...the wife crashed in the shutdown area at a race in Pa. at over 145...broke both legs...the next year she won that event! Angelle Sampey..multi time national champion (now rides a Buell in Prostock) has crashed...Karen Stouffer, another Prostock rider has crashed hard...

TK, sorry to hear that. One of my girlfriends drove her Ninja 650 into a puddle/hidden pot hole and busted her ankle up. I saw her ride the above pictured bike Monday night with the brace on when the Big Kid and I showed up there, because she wanted to try it out.
Stay with it, it is worth it

I think Lotti was the first one to be tossed from her Blast - she's also one of the smoothest riders I've ever seen - right in there with Reg Kitrel and Jerry Haughton, and my buddy Ryan - who no longer rides due to wife - he must suffer -

on topic - lol

Another shop bike the Big Kid brought home, I guess the Honda race bike blew a fuse a few blocks form the shop.
This V-Rod is heavy, aggressive riding position, thought I was riding a Buell Lightening,BUT, I for got to mention....It was HEAVY!

Ray G.'s show winning, LSR record holding Side-car, and Terry Parsely's 1st LSR build - TerryParsley's 1st year salt ride - before radical tale ectomy - lol - I run the header of that bike on mine with a 4" supertrapp with 12 discs - the sound is awesome and not loud - still looking for someone with a radial bender in their shop - to dupe the header and add 4" - make it easier to clamp exhaust, and would equal the extension length I added. This system really rock - I cannot believe the difference - and he gave it to me - how cool is that!

Oy yeah - Erick Buell Tooled around for a week on that Blast - at the time it had a meager 62hp and 50ft/lb and a Baker 6 speed - what a tuning genius - that's why the Corbin on an otherwise ultra lite Blast - though mine is even lighter - lol - but not any longer!
