I have a 2005 Blast that I just recently purchased (dealer leftover stock) I have around 1300 miles on it. When the bike is cold, hit the starter button for a couple of seconds and starts right up. But when it has been rode (hot) it takes alot longer for the engine to fire (hold starter button much longer). It is intermittent and sometimes starts correctly and sometimes takes longer. Noticed it doing this several times around 1100 miles. The initial 1000 mile service was recently done also. Any ideas?

Since your post seems to indicate that it started after the 1000 mile service, it may be they adjusted the primary chain to tight. That can cause hard starting and a loss of power (particularly at the top end-over 65 mph).

After getting it back from the dealer I did take it out on the highway to make sure I could get to higher speeds. Saw on here somewhere that if the chain was too tight it would be hard to get higher speeds. I have no problem getting up to at least 85

Welcome to the board Magicman22!
Has your Blast been rejetted?

If you have a 45 primary jet installed and have the idle air mixture adjusted properly it will probably help with overall performance and any starting issues you may be having.

Concur!
Another possibility is a clogged or pinched tank vent (or bad rollover valve) comes to mind. Pull off the gas cap and see if the problem goes away.
