Are all Blast's mirrors both threaded LEFT?
That is the case on my fiance's bike.

Why?

I can understand the left side being threaded left, because the wind blast will tighten it...but the right???
On top of that (or below that, I should say) the adaptor that threads into the perch is threaded RIGHT anyway.

Update: our friend's Blast, also a 2007, has 2 left hand threaded mirrors. Buell must have gotten a great deal on them.
Adjustments are a big pain.
So that's 2 bikes with left hand threaded mirrors on both sides...any more out there?

Um, they're both threaded the same. When you buy a replacement mirror, it fits on both sides. I don't know why

Do you guys think these mirrors would be any good? I wanted to get something cheaper until I stop dropping it : )

I think they look awesome. I'd love to get a set for mine and I don't plan on dropping it at all. On the other hand, you say you want cheap mirrors until you stop dropping it. Bar end mirrors are almost guaranteed to break if you drop the bike. You might want to rethink getting these until then unless you think they are cheap enough where you can buy a case of them at a time...

3rd Eye Bar End are great mirrors, very inexpensive (2/3rds less than that - max) and can be found at any bicycle store.

Rock on, thanks.

I don't plan on dropping it, just like I didn't plan on the last one. I hope not to, but I don't want to have to replace $200 mirrors everytime I do.

I'm not a big fan of the bar end mirrors because I don't like anything sticking out of the handlebar ends. Like those damn bar ends on my mountain bikes... first thing I Frisbee across the garage...

That being said. Since installing the superbike bars, all I can see is my elbows. Is there another mirror alternative?

If not has anyone tried bending the stock mirror arms toward the outside of the bike further?

Evil,

I was in the same boat as you, but the bar ends seem to work the best for me. Super cheap too!

Do these stick out farther than the stock mirrors?

they are not as tall but stick out wider then stock mirrors. a set of those came with my bike as spares and are alot better for taller people on an oem blast. They might even work with the superbike bars.

insted of the mirror being over top of your pointer finger, the mirrors are closer to over top your ring/pinky finger and about 1-2 in lower.

I only see the outter edge of my shoulder in the new mirrors, compared covering half of the oem mirror with my shoulder and trying to look over my shoulder.

They look better and are more adjustable.
I will varify the part numbers when i am back home on sunday.

Ha! Better late then never!

I have the Blast setup for the lady for the time being. Even with the superbike bars I was able to adjust the stock mirrors for her where they are usable.

When I was on it I could only see my nipples or white lines on the side of the road : )
