2003 and up are pretty bullet proof - mostly cosmetics and miles - if too few miles it could be a problem child - so then give it a test ride as well as a look over - any real problems such as a wacked ignition would show in a half hour of riding - max. - so would any other problems the Blast is acquainted with - lol

No - I've only counted about 18 so far - replace - almost all but one where below 2002, Really what I'm saying is if there is a problem - even something as simple as a torn intake boot - replace -it will show itself early in the riding - if there is a problem. Almost every fix for a problem is cheap on these bikes and a non-runner is usually someone's bargain. Avoid smokers - lol

If a bikes been dropped the rear tailpiece/bodywork isnt going to fit right. If you look where it meets the frame, one side will fit different than the other. Besides tipping you off that its been dropped, it may have bent forks (not that you'd even notice).
Really just a bargaining tool.
There are lots of good deals out there!
Beware of used 'Riders Edge' bikes (learner/safety class). 1200 miles is nothing on a Blast, but 1200 miles on a Riders Edge Blast is some very hard mileage. Take some $$ of the price if it is.
And as with any HD product, the more stock the better, unless you really know what you are looking at.

lol riders edge bikes i was at my local harley dealerships in jacksonville fl an both adamec's all the blasts there were the riders edge bikes and all had some sort of scars and what got me was the fact that they were all marked "new" and were prices at like 4000 watch out for those lol btw how does the dealership get away with calling them new

I dont know how they can call them 'new'either. They'll definitely get a bad rap starting out 'new' like that.
The last dealership that had 3 were all R E bikes and they were all tweaked. A few washers in the right places and you'd never know the difference. But they obviously didnt care!!!!
Yep, the bastard stepchild syndrome.

That would be moderator, 'Sir'!
Yeah, the old "time to move up I've outgrown this bike" in less than 1000 miles!

You got a great deal and a classic example of how they're found.

what would be the difference between a 2500 and a 3k bike?

How quickly you want to move it.

Go over to ebay and do a search for used Blasts. There is an 03 bid at $2650 right now. There is an 04 with a $2950 buy it now price. So I think the 2500-3000 range is realistic.

$1500-$2000.Could go higher or lower. But its Summertime now so prices are at a premium.
Also check NADA for used prices.

I guess you'd also be Blast Thunder?

Are you checking cycle trader online? If you dont mind doing a little work, ins auction sites may also have a Blast (IAA). If you wait long enough a really good deal will come along.
