Ok hears a good one for you guys. My neutral light is flickering on and off. The bike runs fine, no problems what so ever, until I lean the bike onto the kickstand. The bike runs with the stand down as long as I support the bike. As soon as it leans over the bike dies. When the light flickers, if I jiggle the green wire coming out of my starter, I believe it is the starter relay wire, the light will come back on. Keep wiggling said wire, and light goes back off. I am scratching my head with this one. Any suggestions? I already pulled the primary cover off, to take a peak inside there for loose bolts. I was going to jump the wire and be done with it, till I figured out what wire it was.

I think that Saro ran into this. the Neitral switch is begind the drive pulley. You might have a loose connection there. I suspect that it something a little more involved if I remember correctly....

I'll do some searching if Saro doesn't chime in.

I am just confused as to why would the starter relay wire have something to do with my neutral light flickering. I isolated the wire and jiggled it, and no other wires were moving, but the light still flickered.

Jugallo94,
Did you pull the primary cover off and check for the shift drum retaining bolt being loose?

The neutral switch is under the plastic sprocket cover on the right side of the engine. I think it is infront of and above the sprocket, about the two o'clock position.

Thanks Swampy!! That's what caused the flicker with Saro's friends bike.

Jugallo, the starter relaty wire is in the same bundle as the other wires, maybe they are chafed or something. Check the bundle behind the airbox. I know my stock airbox started to cut through my wiring harness before I noticed it and fixed the problem.

I dont have the stock air box in it. It was removed when I first bought the bike which had only 900 miles on it. This was two years ago and the problem just came up last fall. I did check the bolt swampy. everything in the primary was tight. I am going to put it back together and take it to Spidey to take a look at it. I may just jump my kickstand switch for the time being until I can put it down for a longer time and tear into it. I only have 3 weeks until I need it for the trip to the UP. Plus while doing this I still need to finish remodeling a bedroom in my house for a baby on the way in June. I will let you guys know what we find. I played with the neutral switch a little and nothing happend. The only thing that would get the light to come on or off was wiggleing the starter relay wire. It just baffles me. I wouldnt think that this wire would effect the neutral light, but it may be chaffed farther into the harness somewhere.
