had a great couple days up here, great cruising weather, lots of fun! about halfway thru my ride today i was upshifting fairly quickly and i think i accidentally blipped the motor on the upshift and when i let out the clutch there was a good 2 second pause before the gear engaged. i was able to repeat the mistake on purpose and it seemed like it would happen when i gave it alot of gas while pulling in the clutch all the way and then let it out while the rpms were high. is this a safety feature or is my clutch going? maybe the clutch cable is sticking? seemed to be ok, but this bike is new to me so putting some lub in the cable probably is the first time its been done.
what dya think?
thanks
dave

What do I think? I think you accidentally abused your bike, encountered an as-yet unseen phenomenon, and were able to reproduce that phenomenon by purposely beating your bike again.
Whether it's a built-in safety feature or not, I advise you to try to shift in a more clutch/tranny friendly manner.
As far as the clutch 'going'.........
Slippage will be noticed first in high gear. When cruising along in high gear, give it the guns. If the engine revs, but the bike doesn't accelerate, your clutch is slipping and either needs adjustment or replacement.

How come i shift better with earplugs? lol
well, during normal riding the shifting is pretty good. its in those times when you want to just give it some throttle, usually from a stopped position, and are shifting quickly that i notice this. i think i may not be shifting with enough "authority" and am in between gears and the pause is the gear working its way in...oh well, no racing for me!
thanks for the input.

Try adjusting your primary chain. A finely adjusted primary chain can dramatically affect how your trans feels.
The Blast tranny also needs to be shifted with authority, it can be a bit truckish.
