I changed both the transmission and engine oil/filter. Adjusted the clutch cable while I had it apart, too. Mobil 1 15w50. Woo hoo.

Now, does anybody have a good way of getting the footpeg bracket off. It took me nearly 6 beers to get the thing off. Tried swivels, extensions, swearing...

Cobalt60:

This is why HARLEY-DAVIDSON TECHNICIANS are not SMART ENOUGH to work on the BLAST
PLAT FORM !!!

A true MECHANIC or a MECHANIC that is learning will figure it out as all of us that have a BLAST have ...

To get the RIGHT FOOT PEG MOUNT off you
need a FLEX HEAD RATCHET(NAPA has several PN775-14XX)/Metric Socket 14mm short(PN775-1514), removing the the COVER,air cleaner and AIR FILTER ...

To get the LEFT FOOT PEG MOUNT you will need a LONG EXTENSION(3ea PN775-1478) and a Metric Flex socket 14mm (PN775-5814) ...

These are 3/8 drive and if you get a NAPA
Catalog you have a PICTURE for refferance ...

You do not have to buy NAPA TOOLS as you will be able to find cheaper tools that are just as good ...

Replacing the regular nuts with lock washers and coupler nuts also makes it easier for next time, however, you really only need to loosen the peg hangers to get the job done.

Dude,
There is still no answer.
The H-D(spit) primary and tranny and engine are 3 different holes. The Buells and Blast are two, just the engine and the primary/transmission in one.

Their answer, "and there is no concern for clutch performance"
I think the original question is about VISCOSITY not some underlying property that prevents its use in a H-D(spit)or a Buell for that matter.

I have used M1 15W-50 in my primary and engine and things are just fine, I have used Amsoil 20W-50 and things are just fine, I have used Castrol 20W-50 and things are just fine.
If you are using plain old oil things will be just fine.
The only thing you need to do is ride....
The manual gives temperature ranges and a guide as to what viscosities are acceptable to use.
