Hey -

Just a quick question on the adjustment of the shifter. When I first got the bike the length of the shifter arm didn't bother me. It is pretty far out near the end my toes. My boot has a abrasion pad on it but the end of the shifter is so far out it is more near the end of the boot. When I was on the bikes at the MSF course the shifter rested at the base of my toes. That felt better.

IS there a way to adjust the Blast shifter? Any other ideas?
I thought I read a post about it before but I can't find it now.

(Hit 1000 miles on the Blast.......ready for the break-in service.)

One of the other Thumper fans here had a picture of the footrests being mounted up one inch on the footrest perch. What he did to compensate for the farther back foot rest was cut the shifter arm, then drill and tap a new hole to screw the toe peg into. To remove the toe peg it will probably take a little heat to loosen the locktite holding it in place.

Sportster shifter fits and is shorter. If you decide to modify the stock one, use 2 shifter pegs for a very comfortable shifter. I think 'Big Twin' shifter pegs use a smaller diameter peg bolt also (I do know its fine thread). If you use a Sportster shifter dont forget to get a peg with it as I'm pretty sure its also a different thread.
(Many of these parts would be available in a $1 junk bin at a local motorcycle swap meet. They are also available aftermarket to save a trip to the dealer).
