3rd eye mirrors and Catseye signals - however, the catseye is on my list of mirrors to try, when I break a 3rd eye mirror splitting traffic - the CRG are billit items and very indestructable - even splitting traffic - lol - others are already using the catseye - so it must be ok?

Mmelvis: There's really a guy named Scuba Steve?? That's awesome. I wanna meet him.

Everybody: I painted it again this weekend. : )
It is now all metallic blue with the acerbis kit. I also repainted the levers black; paint was wearing off. I'll post pictures after work. It looks really good.

I'm sorry, I want to know about the "3rd Eye" bar-end mirror that is similar to the CRG "hind sight" mirror. I'm going to order them up...

Lets see it Gren!

Ok! Pictures! ...I've got to get a better camera...

First we had to mask it off:
Mask Job
After a coat of primer everything was painted white. It really helped make the blue deeper and more shiny.

The secret to the Acerbis was disassembly and painting the inner part blue to match:

THEN... the Weiner-mobile drove through.

Fast-forward a few hours of painting and wet-sanding and it's all done: : )

very tight! Load up the non lighthousing screws (use red locktight for those) with expoxy and that fairing will last forever! - Run a strip of black closed cell in the same area that the gauge housing touches and no worries there as well - very professional look - could have come off an assembly line like that - lol - definately tasty! One of a kind!

Screws holding the fly fairing to the lights - the Acerbis units are nice but without reinforcement at those points - aka - expoxy - the single will vibrate those screws loose sooner than later, and use red locktight on the light housing screws as well. Nicely done though!
Bravo!

Hey guys, I'm new to the board - but I must say I love reading the posts here (very good atmosphere)
anyways, this seems to be a place where people are posting projects and ideas. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the pro-series exhaust on my blast - but I like the look of the chin spoiler idea on the stock boat anchor exhaust. So, my idea is to make a plastic lower spoiler (kinda like a lightning) to fit over (& around) the pro-series exhaust. I'm sure this idea has been discussed and most likely executed, but here is my take on it: (I did some quick sketches the other day to get the idea out of my head-I hope the RES is ok)

I like the concept a lot, especially if it looks very aggressive.

Gren- Your new fairing looks Awesome ! (...and I think alot cooler looking(IMHO) than the one on EZ's Black bike).
Anyway, your new flyscreen/fairing-Acerbis, reminds me of something from my favorite Sci-Fi TV show : Babylon 5. It reminds me of the Head covering on "Kosh" (The Vorlon) ! Does anybody who watched the show, also see the resemblence ???

well I just finished a rough model.
the exhaust isn't modelled very good because I just eyed it off (didn't measure anything - plus I don't have the pro series exhaust)
anyway, I think its a good start - I've almost got the shape to what I want it.
here are some pics (different colours & transparency to tell the shape)

okay that concave front section was bothering me, so I changed it to have more of a profile.
I still need to get a better flow between the front section and side

A note of interest...the Pro Series is TWO pipes the same diameter, side by side, with the flares pointing out each side (just like yours)

The end result would be much wider than your current view...The pipes are approx three inches in diameter, so total pipe width is a hair over 6 inches, three inches high

LOL- I was gonna mention that too ! The Pro Series Exhaust is alot wider than that pipe dream in your sketches. David, I guess you really haven't seen one in real life ? BTW- everyone who has tried to cover the exhaust with a Plastic cowl has found that it got melted at some points..... I'd think metal would be the only medium to use around the exhaust.
Also, call me contrary- but I'd rather have heat escape/dissipate from around my exhaust- not be retained with a covering ?

yeah, I've only seen it installed on bikes pics before, I guess the one I've modeled is more like a V&H with a diff head pipe(thanks for the pics, thats exactly what I need)- and I also was taking the heat issue into account trying to think of different meterials - possibly a smaller metal cover painted in heat paint? (or coated like pro series)
thanks for the input, this gives me some more ideas.
BTW, here is vector drawing I did last year -to try and keep it more on topic(doesn't have a lot of detail, but works good for trying diff graphic ideas like the quick one in the pic)

Thats a great looking graphic...and if you do figure out a workable design for the pipe scoop, you BETTER post it, I'll want a finished copy!

well I'll admit I've never seen a proseries setup before (the dual outlet description makes more sense now - lol). Let me know if this new model looks off at all
Also, I've heard of the performance advantages of the proseries setup, but what about the sound? I've heard lots of people brag that the V&H sounds much better than stock, but what about the pro series? (vs the V&H or white bros.)
