I know he has seen the worst of the current potus and his admin. with regard to hurricane sandy close-up etc.. but, what could be so impactual to lead the "godfather" of all thats buell astray? Yeah; it's almost as bad as what folks in New Orleans and the Gulf saw from "W" and his administration. What does that have to do with Court selling off his Buells and leaving Badweb? I can think of two or maybe three possible reasons, but I have no specific knowledge so I'll keep them to myself. | ||

@Crusty.. all I know is that it was mentioned the H.Sandy power restoration process was consuming much of his time and possibly a big reason for his absence here.. the correlation, a musing on my part, probably inappropriate. Courts sure an endearing fellow, I've enjoyed all he has contributed to this great forum. I can anticipate it being time to embrace change, but really should keep thoughts to myself, too.. Jon, keeping alive the spirit of Court Canfield and the enthusiasm of the ride around America. Remind me to tell you something one of these days....REX ________________________________ A big Thanks to Jon Rosendall, Alan Smith, and Jim Armstrong for hosting the May ASBN meeting. here is a quick recap. ________________________ We had a great meeting. Don Danmeyer, BSA club, held court for an hour, showing excellent bike photos of his immense collection and technical commentary. Equally important was his contributions about his club which was very inspiring. He was loudly applauded, for his presentation, and his enthusiasm for the BSA Brand, and their dedication to it as a club. The other reports from Alan, Jim and Quail pics were great fun. Jon Rosendall talked about future events and that we need to get specifics down for Laguna's ASBN gathering. Everyone agreed. The planning meeting was announced and Mike Rudimetkin said he wanted to ride up from the South Bay to participate. Monday night, May 13th, 6:30 pm, Peet's in Castro Valley. We had 26 in attendance, including regulars, a new guy (Moto Guzzi) and a 2nd timer. Jack Van Voast was there, and he and Jon have committed to riding their S2's when they get a chance. Unfortunately the new owner of Dick's died suddenly, the same day Jon talked to him about ASBN, and our commitment to meet at Dick's. Apparently his son will now try to run the place. So we are touch and go again. Jon took all of our ASBN promotional items home as a precaution. Lisa is one of our contacts at Dick's. She has promised better service. I have called, texted and e-mailed Court asking what's up. No response. I even googled "Canfield obituary" and found a couple in Ohio and Pennsylvania, but nothing around NY. I can only conclude that he's still covered up with Con Ed work after Sandy, on top of his teaching duties at Columbia. At least I hope that's all it is. Nobody likes being busy more than Court. rt | ||

He has posted here and there during the time he was "not here". I don't know what's going on with him and could find out by asking him I suppose. I figure he has his reasons and it's none of my business. I do miss his being active on this site. I hope he will be active again soon. | ||

Who knows. We all have to balance priorities in life, and while this community is incredible and important, other things in life can and should be be important. I can't think of any old timers who are consistently active all the time... I'd not consider my self one of the originals, and I remember when that Glitch character showed up.  I've had to take a couple of breaks from the community for personal reasons, and I didn't even have any potential entanglements with old and current Buell or EBR companies or employees complicating situations. I can think of all sorts of good reasons why somebody even indirectly involved with the old or new company may need to go "quiet" now and then. Especially a person of honor and integrity who knows the right thing and does it. So who knows... if I respect a person I respect their choices, I don't have to know or understand them, and they aren't typically my business in the first place. A good friend is a good friend... regardless if i see them once a day or if I see them once a decade. Here's to Court, wherever you are, and whatever you are up too!  | ||
