Got the "25 Years" book as a birthday present and love it. However, I still don't have an answer why the Thunderbolt was named S2 instead of, let's say S1.

Why starting with the S2, then follow with the S1, then the M2?
What's the secret?

Because, the S2 is ment to be ridden on both wheels while the S1 on just the back ; )

I could be wrong and hopefully Erik will pop on and correct me but the S1 was already past the rough idea stage when they decided to update the RS and make it the first of the new company bikes instead of going for a totally new design.
Trying to get to market fast before somebody at Juneau woke up and stopped the whole deal ; )

I always thought it was 2 seat vs. 1 seat.
