One thing that comes to mind is have badwebbers go out on the MC boards and talk up Erik Buell Racing. Talk about how the 1125R is still eligible for DSB and the 1125RR is still eligible for Superbike. Stress the fact that the R won DSB but also stress that the RR was very competitive right out of the box in Superbike. Stress that this EBR is going to supply a very high level of support, both parts and knowledge, to ANYONE racing a Buell. If you can't find a discussion start one. Be prepared to get flamed and remain calm and cool. Avoid arguments. State facts. |

Synchronicity......Yesterday I was in the shop of a fellow with 2 long lasting Bonneville records on Buells, and an abundance of knowledge on the brand and technology. Part of the discussion was regarding maintaining a presence in racing, even drag racing and, of course, land speed. Keep the flag flying in as many racing venues as possible for a few years, the smoke clears, the dust settles. But the brand is not forgotten and will have a genuine leg up on returning by keeping Buell in the racing limelight. If we don't race, personally, we can ride Buells to the racing events. If "out of sight, out of mind" is to be avoided, then, "in sight, and in people's minds" can help in the long run. Racing breeds technological advancements that filter down to product for public consumption. EBR is working for everyone's benefit. Harley moves bodies, Buell moves souls. Keep the faith. Dave, on a related note, MCN has a short article on EBR: http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/Ne.../?R=EPI-120 348 "Very competitively priced front-running superbikes, no roadbikes" The article has a couple of quotes from Erik, the first I've seen since October 15 apart from the canned HD press releases. (Just posted to 3 other forums) |

I saw taht MCN article, very good one. And keep the flag flying. The more internet chatter the better. There is an old Hollywood saying "The only bad publicity is NO publicity"! |

Any publicity is good publicity as long as they spell the name right. |
