Court, I read in another thread about your plan to establish "pop up HD dealerships". Sounds good, and I think the Buell mobile dealership would also work well. I bought a FJR this year to replace my S3, and one of the reasons I chose that bike was that no dealership ( 3 different dealers ) within 100 miles of my home was planning on having a 2010 Ulysses available, since they told me that they already had 2007 and 2008 Ulysses that haven't sold yet. I also observed that no dealerships around here stock all of Buell's motorcycles. Several only have one or two Buells. None had any accessories to see. I only wanted to consider a 2010 Buell motorcycle, and without the opportunity to see and drive a new model, I didn't consider a Ulysses. A mobile Buell dealership would have all of Buell's models, and the availability to test drive any model. They could work with existing dealerships to order the model the customer wanted, and to service this bike. A large variety of accessories could be shown, to be ordered through the dealer. This would free up the dealership from stocking parts that they may not move for some time, and keeping the motorcycle inventory at a reasonable level without stocking all models in the line. Some kind of express delivery of new motorcycles could be arrainged, with possibily 1 week delivery. Perhaps the mobile dealership could visit twice a year to each Buell dealership location, with much advertising to assure a large crowd. I'm sure that the logistics of the plan could plan on how many mobile dealerships would be needed for North America. Just an idea to help Buell sell more motorcycles. I hope to buy another Buell in the future. |
