Frankly....you may be. I, the son of a construction worker, was raised thinking that plaid slacks and a red polyester sport coat were, well "sporty".

My first trip to NYC, shall we say, I stood out.

I have yet to surrender to the black long sleeved shirt with a black v-neck sweater and a black tie with black slacks and black jacket crowd but I am working my way into the world's fashion capital at, shall we say, a "metered pace".

Please note that although I have not "surrendered" to the gliteratzi defenders of "Black is Black" (can you truly say that phrase without chanting "I want my baby back"?) crowd, I have given in and succumbed to the TEAM ELVES "black is always" in fashion t-shirts.

:)

Shall we go formal on your next visit?...I think not.

Court, Rex here. I have a question on my RSS..?

-Do you have a diagram that shows the plumbing from the tank to the carb? Where everything should go? Also, the switch for the on and reserve in the fairing? Any details on it? REX

Apropos of absolutely nothing...

... it has just this very morning come to my attention (and I have to admit that I'm not even a little bit surprised by this) that it is in fact a violation in the City of New York to operate a private motor vehicle with flashing lights mounted under the fenders. I am fairly sure that vehicular use of sidewalks and "unofficial" contra-flow lanes is also frowned upon, but I have no independent verification.

Never mind how I know this. Henrik, watch your step.

TeamElves.com

Moved to a new server and upgraded (and the new memory has made a huge difference).

If you are associated with the team and want a @teamelves.com email address let Court or I know.

We're now running on a single processor PIII 600, 640MB RAM. Windows 2003, Exchange 2003, McAfee AV.
The trick part is the drives: three 18GB 10,000RPM SCSI3 drives in a RAID5 array off an Adaptec PERC 3/DC RAID card with 128MB RAM.

It's now behind a hardware firewall and has a 1.5Mb down/384MB up Internet connection.

Anyone want a Compaq 3000 server or a ton of other parts? Runs, free to good home.

redundancy can be a good thing. Not in meetings, though. : )
whatcha got in parts? I'm pretty sure I don't need another entire box at home what with PECO sending me thank you notes and flowers all the time as it is, (webserver/mailserver and the dual PIII audio workstation with powered monitors, breakout box, and 21 inch monitor consumes a bit of electricty) but you never know.
My current "trick" setup at work is a 4 terabyte san - if those pesky Oracle databases weren't taking up so much space I could expand my mp3 collection a bit more. Let's just say I don't have a quota on my home directory. Downside is flashing the firmware on the drives. One at a time. Read War and Peace twice last time waiting for it to finish. Man were my lips and index finger tired when that finished : )
