Court:

I just got off the phone with my dealer (I was there on Saturday and there was some confusion on which kit he looked up). It seems that the Buell toolkit (expanded $99 version) isn't broken down into individual parts (94685-03Y). It's taken me about 3 weeks to lose the T25/T27 bit that goes into the screwdriver. I really find it hard to believe that with all the parts that are broken down, the tool kit isn't. Is my dealer simply not looking at the correct part, or is it true that they really don't break down the parts in the kit? It seems odd that they wouldn't since those are the most likely things for you to loose or break.

Your dealer is likely correct. Often time the individual parts are not broken down to "service parts". Send me a photo of the kit and the part number and let me bring it to the attention of the people handling that item. It seems like it may be a good idea to think about down the line. Also send me the details of the part you lost.

By the way . . . don't laugh . . . it took Dave Gess a year or two to have the time to get past "FRONT FORK ASSY - COMPLETE".

I'll send you a photo and description. I did get a call back from my dealer. Harley has a similar part, he was able to sell me that had the right bit in it (along with a few others but I actually like it a bit better, so I bought it).

I'm just surprised that tools are the one thing you will tend to break or loose more often and unlike a lot of other things, it seems they aren't broken down into service parts. Go figure.
