Hi Court, I just wanted to get your out take on the "pinging" issue that so many have talked about here. I have an '07 XB12X with just over 5K miles on it. It has had this problem since almost day one (didn't notice during the initial break-in period). I can't give it more that half throttle while accelerating without it detonating, even in colder temperatures (50-60 degrees). I have had my bike in to the dealership several times for this problem, among others and I have been in contact with Buell customer service. It is currently at the dealership where last week a H-D rep went to take it for a drive. I talked to the service manager afterwards who said that they were able to replicate the problem, but continued to say that nothing was wrong. The H-D rep was supposed to be calling me direct to talk about it, but I haven't heard from him. I know that this is not normal and I would hope that there would be a fix. I love this bike and do not want to jump ship, but I am running out of ideas. Is there a fix for this problem? Thanks for you help or at least for listening. Tony |
