Hey court, to this day i will admit i have no idea who you are, what you do (i have this narrowed down to a parts slinger, an accomplished racer, manager of some sort for some motorcycle related something or other, or just know people who matter)or where youre from. But i know that you know a lot of things about a lot of things... my question is, after repeatedly dealing with retards that get frustrated and confused when you ask for something as simple as a spark plug wire, i was considering maybe throwing my app. in as a parts slinger for the local h.d./buell dealership. What do the average parts guys get paid?(this is in nebraska) Ive been a parts guy for automotive for 2 years and honda/kawasaki for 1 year. know my stuff about parts and mechanical whatnots, and pick up on any computer system fast. But im not gonna work for 10 dollars an hour either..now im rambling.. anyways, what are your thoughts/knowledge about this? |

Just a guess but I'd say about two thirds of what a HD mechanic makes which here in the mid west is a joke, $12.00- $15.00 an hr. So an experienced parts picker might make $8.00- $10.00. |

The answer is: It depends. These guys are paid by the individually owned and operated dealerships, not HD/Buell corporate so there is no one single answer. What do the motorcycle parts guys get paid in your area? That's probably about what the HD/Buell parts guy gets. |

The answer is: It depends. Could not have said it better. Investigate, walk in, grovel, see if you can scratch up info. Use the same due diligence you would if considering any career change. Us construction workers do. |

You just want my one-off custom white Uly. Court, did you get an XP? Did they let you have it with, or without, a lighting package? |

No I did not . . . . but I confess I came damn close. Right now I'm riding daily, getting along just fine but I must say the XP has a lot of appeal. The should be able to sell a boatload to the local cops and the NJ Parks folks for all the dirt roads they patrol. Very cool bike. I confess the white does more for me than any of the other, perhaps faster, colors. |
