Do you have any information on this bike or the bike's maker, Stone's Motorcycle Co.?

I plan on contacting them and I'd like to be prepared. Appreciate anything you may know about them.

Never seen nor heard of them. Precious little Buell in that bike, perhaps the motor.

Talked to the owner. The donor bikes are XB12s and are completely rebuilt. The front end and running gear is all Buell. The frame is a custom OIF with double shock "suspension" developed by Confederate Cycles. The geometry appears to be stock. The bikes are a little pricey, which is why I'm trying to get some objective opinions. Stone says that Barnett will have a story on them in the near future, and perhaps American Thunder tv also.
If anyone hears anything about the bikes, please let me know. Thanks.

well the pics that come up are definatly not with an xb12 donor bike.

it would be from an 02 or older tube frame bike

in fact looking over the site i didnt see any using those parts. although i may have missed a bike.

you must have a wrecked bike that you need something to do with?

I misspoke. I'm not all that familiar with Buells and I may not have understood all that I heard. I believe the "Wild One" is from an older bike, maybe a '98. I didn't ask about any of the others. They have 2 frames for this model: one is for the older Buells and another is for the '03s and newer.
As far as having a salvage bike, I don't. I currently have a 1200 Sportster with some non-cosmetic upgrades. I plan to keep it. I grew up on Brit bikes; never had a rice burner and I don't plan on owning one now.
I'm probably older than the average sport bike rider and not necessarily obsessed with speed. I'm looking for a modified Buell (American-built and reliable, by reputation)and this one just appealed to me on an aesthetic level.
Thanks for all the information; again, if anyone has anything additional, I'd appreciate it.

BTW, No Rice, your bike is no slouch either, altho 197 mph is way out of my league.

my 9 is no slouch, but it wont manage anymore than the stock 140 mph give or take that an xb will achiev with stock gearing. it just gets there a bit quicker: )

the 197 was on a highly modded ninja years ago. and yes it was on radar(dont ask how, lol)

i do need to update that though. i finally managed to top the 200 mark by a few mph on the Y2K(dont ask where!). i really wish i could give that thing a full out run one of these days. think that will only happen if i can convince the owner to sponsor a salt flats expedition!

redneck engineering makes some nice buell frames to if you are going that route.
i have to build a custom frame for my old 9 that i sold to a friend. i cant wait. i love building one off things!

Actually, I saw the Redneck bikes in Ocean City, MD. In general, they're nice, but not comfortable for the long haul (all you have to do is look at the small gas tanks). High concept, good workmanship, but little practicality beyond the bragging factor.

I sat on their Blast mutant, and as someone said, it looked like a monkey humping a football.

A friend build a Blast custom based on a Crossroads Performance (http://www.crossroadsperformance.com/blastchopper. htm) machine for his 18-year old son. The son loves it and his father says that its enjoyable to ride from home to the 7-11. He tried to convince me to go this route using a larger engine in an off-the-shelf frame. LOL, me on a rigid at my age!

You are in the wrong motorcycle forum. This site is for Buell motorcycle enthusiasts, not chopper enthusiasts.

Sorry if I offended you or anyone else. I'm not sure how you define chopper, but all I was looking for was information on modified Buell motorcycles. To that end, it was suggested I contact Court because he is the expert on all things Buell. Again, it was my understanding that the BadWeb is a community of Buell enthusiasts and that everyone enthused about Buell motorcycles was welcome. If you could suggest an alternative forum I will gladly contact them. Thanks.

If you are a Buell motorcycle enthusiast, then you are eagerly welcomed here and we're lucky to have you.

If you are mainly interested in custom choppers/cruisers and the like, then you will likely find other forums--try google-- more suitable and beneficial to your preferences.

The thing is that those are't modified Buell motorcycles. They are custom choppers, cruisers or whatever that are using a meager few parts from Buell motorcycles.

In short, if a bike isn't using a Buell frame, it isn't a Buell motorcycle by any stretch of the imagination. I'm not offended at all. I happen to like custom drag style bikes, and the like. They are an art form much maligned, but they certainly have their place and if I were a wealthy man, I might even own one for putting to and fro around town and for some fun at the drag strip.


I don't know anyone who know's Buell motorcycles who would ever characterize the above as a "modified Buell motorcycle."
