You realize, of course, that Orcas are protected by law... you're not allowed to eat any sea mammal unless you can prove your Inuit ancestry... GPS coordinates for the Farmer Bar in Cutchogue (where you can get fried OKRA) are: N41 01.274 W72 29.850 (Message edited by jaimec on November 12, 2007) (Message edited by jaimec on November 12, 2007) |

I have not . . . but I'm winding up a couple major projects and can see that happening before the next semester (which will be a double load . . . I'm a masochist) starts 1/22. Have a reasonably spectacular holiday! |

Court; Terri & I & our two daughters will be dining at the NYC Dinosaur this Friday after we finish perusing the IMS show at the Javitts Center; probably around 5:00 PM or so. You (and any other Badwebbers) are more than welcome to join us. |

Crusty, That's my birthday! I'll be turning fif...fif...fif... <cough> 29 for the 21st time! Unfortunately, I'll have to pass though as I'm being taken to "Legal Seafood" for dinner that night by my family. I'll be in Manhattan on Sunday for the show, though. I might head uptown afterwards to the dinosaur, we'll see how it goes. |

Crusty,i wish we were going out Friday,it'd be awesome to join you guys'.We're going out by Acela express first thing Saturday morn and returning Saturday eve at 7p by Amtrak. We are going to try hard to find the "Dinosaur".How far from the Javits is it? |

>>>>Dinosaur".How far from the Javits is it? Jabvit's . . . essentially is at 34th Street. The Dinoasaur is about 129th Street up in Harlem. Taxi would be the best, figure a $125 cab fare. Both side right on the West Side Highway . . . so it's a matter of getting in a cab at Javitt's, heading North about 10 minutes and getting off the highway at the 125th Street exit. If it works out, depending on time circumstances, I might be able to make a run from Javitt's to the Diniosaur. if anyone needs a map . . just let me know. |

$125 cab fare I was discouraged from travelling by train due to very expensive New York city. But i've never been. Court, please assist? Think about it? Well,a little investigation and it seems the subway "Could" deliver to 134th.....i hope it's a great day.I've never travelled by train(or plane) and the trip seems like fun..woo-hoo (Message edited by ducxl on December 25, 2007) |

Ducxl - I've been a few times. It's expensive, and if you have money you can certainly find ways to spend it. But it's not so outrageously expensive that you can't afford anything. Millions of people live there who aren't rich. |

I just did some quick calculations, unless you get stuck in traffic, the cab would only be about $13.50 + tip, so i guess Court forgot the period. Directions from Javits to the BBQ - http://tinyurl.com/36c5kf I'm am gonna try and make it to the BBQ to meet you guys, i don't think im tied up with anything else. |

My poor typing . . it'd be LESS than $15. You DO NOT want to take the subway. You could take train but you have to leave and arrive in a "less than optimal" neighborhood. Cab is the way . . . both venues are within 50 feet of the West Side Highway. I recommend the "Big Ass Pork Plate". Keep in touch . . . if you can make the 20 minute car ride without bitching and moaning to me about your Buell . . I may be able to give you a ride. One foul word and your ass will be in the back of the pickup and I'll be headed to "the hood". PULLED, SLICED & CHOPPED MEATS BIG ASS PORK PLATE The Genuine Article. Pork shoulder smoked low & slow the ‘ol timey way. Hand pulled & piled high....$14.50 TEXAS BRISKET PLATE Pit smoked up to 14 hours, hand sliced & served with house cured pickled jalapeños....$14.95 PORK BRISKET PLATE Pulled & sliced smoked meats....$14.95 HALF BAR-B-Q CHICKEN Apple brined, pit smoked and slathered with your choice of original Bar-B-Q sauce or Creole Honey Mustard Sauce, 3 piece chop....$11.95 1/2 Rack (6-7 Ribs) $14.50 3/4 Rack (9-10 Ribs) $18.95 Full Rack (12-13 Ribs) $22.95 |

Jim (Damnut); we plan to be at the Javitts when the show opens at Noon. Since it usually takes 4 - 4 1/2 hours to see everything, I figure we'll at the Dinosaur around 5:00 or 5:30. |

Wish I could join you guys. Feel free to raise a glass and wish me a Happy Half Century! I just realized I started riding in 1982. That means from now on I can honestly say I've spent MOST of my life riding motorcycles! Couldn't say that before! |

Here's the address: Dinosaur BBQ 646 W 131st St. New York, NY 10027 212-694-1777 5:00 on Friday. We'll be there! Spending the day surrounded by motorcycles, then having some really good BBQ with Buell enthusiasts; it really sounds like as good a day as you can get in the Northeast in the winter. I can sit on an 1125R, get a Free 25th patch, get all kinds of other free motorcycle stuff. Look at all kinds of bikes, and sit on a few, It's going to be a GOOD day!!! |

Crusty: I'll be at school all day just a couple blocks away so I'll try to slip over at 5:00. If you get a chance grab me some of the Buell promo stuff. We should have no problem getting in at 5:00. I missed, by the way, a great photo op yesterday. . . large tractor trailer stopped in the West Side Highway . . 3 NYPD cruisers around it and the driver standing next to it in hand cuffs. Apparently he got in a spat with another motorist. Welcome to NYC!
