OK maybe it's just me but I have broken both pegs, one after the other, in less than a month. One when the bike fell over the other from be backing the bike into the garage and hitting the sheetrock wall! Didn't even put a hole in the wall.

I am thinking of after market BUT I start thinking maybe the pegs are designed to break rather than the frame bend? Or has it just been rotten luck? It's not like they cost a ton, about $18.00 or so. it's just the pain in the A$$ factor and I worry about one snapping while I'm riding.

I was looking At the Tourtech site or some from American Sport Bike, think I'd be OK with them?

I also believe they are designed to be fragile to prevent more serious damage to the bike. But somehow i never broke any pegs, but lost half the peg mount on my Uly with my last wreck.

It would be nice to have a billet clone of the Uly rearset with a little bit of adjustability wouldn't it?

I wonder if there is a market for them. I don't have the capacity to produce them on my manual
mill, but I bet some would buy them just for the aesthetics, while others would buy them to make
their lightnings and firebolts more touring worthy and passenger friendly. Not to mention the
Uly riders that want them for the durability/crash worthiness.

Just the thoughts of a fevered mind.

I don't particularly care about "aftermarket" pegs but,in '99 when i bought the X1 i spent for the forged aluminum pegs BMC offered. They were cool then but,i notice my friends '00 Millenium has sprung pegs like on our XBr. I like how they fold back and spring back again.A part number for the X1 sprung pegs? They'll fit an earlier X1?
