Court,
If anybody knows the answer to this question it would be you and if you don't I know you could find out, here goes.

How much does the front fork assembly on an XB12Scg weigh? The reason I ask is my friend wants to put one on his drag bike but wants to make sure its lighter then the forks he has on his bike now, hope you can help.

Thanks in advance.

Jimbo

Wow.

Tell you what. . . I'm not up for the abuse.

First you tell me what "the front fork assembly" is.

Folks are still arguing about the relative benefits of the ZLT system, unable to decide the compostion of the parts.... . . perhaps the front fork assembly is easier.

I'd say that's a good call. You need exact components to obtain exact weights,
since I'm betting the drag racer is interested in very specific numbers.

TrueBlue, if you have access to an 03-04 XB of any model the difference in weight
between that and the scg or S(low) will be pretty small. Maybe get you ballpark
figures.

Court, Diablobrian, Thank you for the input let me be more specific. He currently has a standard narrow glide front end, 39mm tubes and running a PMFR wheel. If the XB front end is light enough then that will justify the expense of installing the XB front end on his drag bike, question is. How much does an XB front end weigh compared to a narrow glide. Thanks again for your input.

Howdy Trublue....Maybe I can help you here....My roomate and one of his Business partners are building Drag Bikes and thats exactly what they use.We presently have 5 complete sets of '04 XBR front ends in our garage....for sale ,and two incomplete sets(missing rotor and caliper). I can weigh them for you if you like.....most drag bikes wont need the ignition so I'll weigh that seperately. If your friends interested he's selling them for over a 1/3 off of list price....I can list in classified next week to keep Blake Happy....

Ebear- If you could weigh one I really would appreciate it. I will tell him on Tuesday when I see him that you have them for sale. I was thinking I would have to call Buell direct to find this out. Thanks so much for your help.

Just so you'll know I wasn't trying to be a smart alec, but the first 60 seconds of the conversation begin with "with fluids, or without"...."with stock springs of the one's we're using"?

It's really tough to pin down the weight. It sounds like nailing down the weight of all the components, and they putting together YOUR recipie is the way to do it and the only way to get anything meaningful.

Really Sorry it took so long....I tucked this away in my overtaxed brain and lost that part of my RAM for a while....

The '04 XB front ends are the lighter 41mm not the recent 43mm tubes.

Weight was 29.8 pounds for what is in photo minus ignition and fender......exactly 30 pounds with all.Mind you this doesn't include OIL nor a tire nor an axle nut.
Hope this helps.
