Jeff, First thing, you will probably get more replies if you post your question here. The main differences between the X1 and the M2 are; • X1 is injected, the M2 is a carby model. • The X1 has a steeper steering angle. • The X1 has higher pegs and a more track oriented seating position. • Until 2001, the M2 only had a speedo, no tacho. • Obviously the styling.... The standard gear shift system has hairs on it. Banke make a good replacement, but Buell's 2001 models also have an improved system over the original. Jeffsd: WRONG viewpoint to look upon Buell as compromise: Buell is IT. No big differences between M2 and X1: X1 upside down fork, fuel injection and "designed" air inlet and rear party. M2 is carburetted, upside up front fork and looking more timeless and naked. Both can set the road on fire bone stock and you must have a very sensible throttle hand to keep your Buell in the slow pace with your Harley buddies in the twisties. Total fuel management on injected bikes is very complicated but necessary for optimal emission control while carbs are at the end of their development. But the engine can make the same horsepower, feed by injection or carburettor. The only big difference between M2 and X1 is the price but the grin factor is exactly the same. Hans. | ||

Blake, Court, et. al. I have tried downloading the pdf under Knowledge Vault, Suspensions, Forks, etc. for the '95-'00 Rear Shock Recall and cannot get more than the first two pages to load before everything locks up and I have to reboot the pc. Any suggestions? I have tried two different ISP's already with the same result. Dave | ||

Dave, Try right-clicking on it and doing a "Save Target As..." which will download the file without opening it. You could also try uninstalling Adobe reader & downloading their Reader 5.0 Josh Team Elves | ||

Dear Admin, Sometimes the postings are neatly 'shrunk to fit' on my screen, and other times they are about three feet wide, requiring horizontal scrolling in order to be read. Is this due to the BadWeb design, my browser settings, my monitor being too small (I have suffered from similar problems since puberty), or is it just because I'm ignorant (generally the case)? Pete, sometimes when pictures are posted with too wide a format, it messes up the board spacing for a while. After enough posts accumulate, that section gets archived and that section of board looks good again. | ||

Capt.: What Chuck said. And I 2nd your thanks to all the contributors to the BBS. One tip that might help is to check/increase the display resolution on your monitor to a higher resolution. Common pixel resolutions for PC's are 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, and on up to 1600x1200 and even higher for some new high dollar systems. I'd recommend using at least 1280x1024 and the "large" font and "large" icon settings. You will probably need to reboot after changing from small to large fonts and icons. Consulting your operating system's "Help" menu should tell you what you need to know to accomplish the changes. You should also be able to adjust font size within your web browser which will allow you to fine tune the look of the BBS to optimum viewing confort. Another trick to overcome the undesirable symptoms of a mongo sized jpeg is to set your web browser to not automatically display pictures. With MSIE you can then display them as you wish by right clicking on the pic designator icon and clicking on "Display Picture". If your monitor is already maxed out to it's highest resolution, it's also fair tactics to let the poster of the offending jpeg know that he's causing you difficulty and ask that he please not post such large pictures in the future. Pictures on the BBS would be best if limited to no more than 640 pixels in width. One more tip, if the page in question also has the left frame shown, you can drag the frame divider all the way to the left to maximize your viewing area of the posts. Blake |
