Please remove my first two attempts at posting my M2 on the classifieds. I was able to post the picture on the third attempt. Thank you, Kelco.

Blake Lever :

Seeing as how you're always extolling the virtues of the "search for new messages" facility, I've a suggestion.

You know there are two ways to view Badweb, one with the side bar menu in place, and one without the side bar (wider view is best :)). Ok, here's the suggestion. On the pages without the side bar menu the New Messages box is way down the General Discussion page, which means I always have to scroll down the page some to click on the box. No big deal, I've a wheel mouse, but never the less, it would be easier and quicker without having to scroll, wheel mouse or not, so why not put the New Message box at the top of the page ?

Blake thanks for your continuous ameliorating of the Badweb.
1. Maybe the name of the subtopic could be placed at the end of the messages to avoid that the thread is drifting too far away from the topic.
2. After viewing the message three I am accustomed to open at once all windows to load all new messages to read them off line. (Line costs are considerable here.) If I want to follow a link in the text the line is opened again but when I shut that new window off after reading the linked pages all other windows with unread messages are gone. ???
Hans.

Hi all:
I don't know about anyone else's experience, but since the new server, if you click someone's name to view their profile, most times the 'Back' button on the tool bar (in my case AOL) will no longer go back. You have to re-select a side bar topic to get to where you were before. Any others with this problem? :-(

Nope. I clicked on your name, saw a wonderful S2 and then hit the back arrow to arrive here.

Not using AOL.

Tripper,

Thanks for trying. Anyone with AOL experience the same problem?

Rocket: "Blake Lever" heheh, that reminds me of old Dr. Lee, the Chinese/Taiwan expatriot engineer who I worked with long ago. Every night at quitting time he would ask me to sign off his secure/locked file cabinet by lookig at me inquisitively and saying sharply... "Brake!, you sign?" He was one helluva structural test engineer though.

Unfortunately I can't put a permanent navigation box/bar at the bottom of the discussion pages... yet anyway. It is in the works though. In the mean time consider...

1. Edit your profile; under "Preferences" select the option to "Open "New Messages" links in a new browser window".

2. Change your badweb favorite/bookmark to

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/board.html

3. Upon opening of the main topic page URL above that contains the lefthand navigation frame/sidebar, click on "New Messages" in the sidebar under "Utilities".

4. Indicate your topics of choice, then select "Messages since I last checked for new messages:" and pull the trigger. Leave this browser window open.

5. Like Hans, I go through the list and quickly pick off each topic/subtopic of interest; each one opens in it's own window. (Hans, I'm not sure what is going on with your browser, but make sure you have selected the "Open new message links in a new window" in your user profile preferences.)

6. Or if you don't want to use the new messages utility and want the wider is better view, drag the frames divider all the way to the left.
If you want to use any of the sidebar utilities you can drag the divider back to the right.

My way is better, wanna see the math?

Tbolt: That may be more of a function of the browseer you are using. Try using MSIE.
