Those ••• dots! (Just kidding - those were dollar signs, really!) On another note - is there any way to arrange, or how difficult would it be to arrange, all of the posts in all of the folders so that the newest stuff is towards the top? It seems that a few of the sections, the topics are just willy-nilly all over the place, and it's hard sometimes to figure out what's newest, especially when I am unable to get to the board very often, which happens when you're moving around a lot and don't have access to the net... If I hit the link to look at messages from the last three weeks, it returns thousands of messages and I might just as well just go surf through the boards anyway. Thanks for doing a great job! How about a knowledge vault in the xb section, a knowledge vault in the blast section and a knowledge vault in the old school section. The older buells have a wealth of info, and searches for xb stuff come up with very little, or just mentions briefly or is lost sum where in pages of other non related stuff... Ok I am lazy. But that doesn't make it a bad idea. It will just organize it better... But other than that Good experiences!!! | ||

Undermining the whole point. Admin is just trying to clean up the potty mouths. I'm a habitual offender so don't think I'm on a soapbox by any means. A crude mouth is inherent to my Marineness, but I'm working on it. I feel the caliber of people on this site isn't above a little civil behavior. It's what I love about this place. We can TALK, and LEARN, and SHARE, not rant and put eachother down. | ||

The strong language has never been a problem on BadWeB. It's one of the few less polite expressions we've all managed to keep to a minimum. The latest attempt at censorship is a little pointless given what was the usual status quo. What's wrong with a little profanity between friends? Character building is all it is. Those of you treating this place like a freekin church would do well to remember I'm not religious and nor is this forum - or is it? Man, is that the problem here? LOL! I'm not saying we need to be church boys, but the few have ruined it for the many... You make good points Rocket and that's why Admin has been so tolerant of the veterans here. But I also don't want to see this board haunted by the likes of 420 on a consistent basis. It just undermines the goodness and help this board brings people like me. The problem, as I see it Rocket, is that I wouldn't consider what was goin' on here a couple weeks ago as "profanity between FRIENDS" It was an all-out verbal lynching by a newbie who had no business trashing people he didn't know on a site that he just began frequenting. He was completely out of line and refused to back off when called on it. Just my two cents.  | ||

Overzealous profanity filter? On a post in another thread, I ended one paragraph with a colon-right paren smiley, I hit Enter twice and started the next paragraph with the word "It." I got dotted! It went something like this. ••••••'s kinda strange how the smiley, the blank line, and the word It disappeared. I can see (sorta) that maybe the colon and right-banana could have been considered substitutes for an S and an H, but there were two line breaks in between. So if you're looking to improve the profanity filter, can you add this case as a not-profane pattern? Thanks, Dave | ||

I think the goals are just to keep badweb a site you can browse while you are at work. Too much profanity, and the web filters will kick in and block the site and get it added to a black list. So I think it's a simple matter that profanity adds no value to the site, but could cost a lot of people access for a big part of their day. | ||
