Eeeeek,
Multiple codes is not a problem. You should have seen what it took to make the puzzle inside the 9 squares.....!
But I don't know how to make thumbnails.

Peter:

It's so easy you're going to smack your forehead.

To make a Thumbnail, take your original jpg (we'll call it buell.jpg), shrink it down and save it as buellthumb.jpg (or buellsmall.jpg, or buella.jpg, name doesn't matter as long as it's different).

Now you have two jps', a big one and a little one. You just make the little one a link to the big one. There are programs that do this automatically and explain the process in more detail, like thumber

Three wheelies, a stoppie and two burnouts to Vik!!! Seems like if I knew html and cgi I could easily create a new bbs format code for posting thumbnails and also displaying pics from other websites. So who knows html and cgi that wants to give it a shot?

Vik,
Do you know of any programs that run with a Mac? I found Thumber, but I think it's only Windows based.
Or is there a simple way to link the two pictures?

Blake! can you move this discussion for us?

Peter:

I'll see ifI can track down a MAC program. Until then, Thumbnails work differently here than they do on the web. On the web, the code looks like this:

<a href="images/picspagepics/btfinish.jpg"><img src="images/picspagepics/btfinishThumb.jpg" width="160" height="120" border="0"></a>

I grabbed the above code off of the SACBORG pictures page. It the code for the thumbnail of me going through the finish at Battletrax.
In this example, <a href="images/picspagepics/btfinish.jpg"> is the destination where the full size image is and <img src="images/picspagepics/btfinishThumb.jpg" width="160" height="120" border="0"> is the little picture or thumbnail. Notice that </a>is way at the end, closing the link.

Now, linking here is a bit different because this software uses different code and does not allow you to display pictures that are hosted elsewhere. I put the directions for making the links here in a previous post. Basically, take your image and then make a smaller on and save it with a different name. Then, make a link here and upload the little image as the description: "backslash"newurl{URL,"backslash"image{little picture}}

like this

Blake,
The 'links' section is starting to put new messages above old ones at the top of the page. Is that normal?
