Hey Blake... I was thinking today... After scanning the XL forums, i was surprised to see so many Buells getting hacked up for stupid chopper projects... This got my mind thinking as to how many Buells actually exist? Is there a way to start a Buell Owners Registry, complete with partial vin#'s , to keep track of what's left? Maybe post a small pic of the bike, and a short synopsis of the history of it, and who is now currently owning them. Let me know what you think. Mikey | ||

I have a suggestion, clean up the fonts you use on this website they are hard on the eyes and look very sloppy. | ||

Mike, That would be great. I'll sure join in if you start the thread. Earwig, What specifically do you suggest? Except for some unique fonts used to help distinguish some of the main topic titles, all of BadWeB uses the Comic Sans MS font. Some folks really like its informal feel/look. I'm one of them. I've certainly never thought of it as "very sloppy." Not sure that is very constructive, which is the kind of suggestions we are looking for here, constructive ones. | ||

Ok... I guess what I am referring to is the Comic Sans font... also the black banners laying on top of the brownish/green background just look out of place... The "Topics" section uses different sizes, colors, bold, nonbold, italics etc... for different topics, I just think it would look better if they were all the same font, same font size and same color with maybe just using bold here and there to make things stand out. There are also smilies in random places... I don't know... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this site and forum I just think it would be nicer if it didn't look so amateurish. If you are going for a laid back/informal look/feel for the site then just ignore this post  I might just have a different opinion than you or anyone else  | ||

Blake, I agree with Earwig with regard to the Topics fonts. I agree with you though about the Comic Sans font. That is the coolest around. Don't change it please. I have no problem with the BadWeB colours. They are great, and suit my chalk finish paints in similar colours on my cottage walls. I recall the previous occasion when you changed the background colours. I nearly quit for good LOL. Rocket | ||

Well, around April 9, I had, during two days, no connection with Badweb at all. When Badweb came up again, I could see that others wrote messages during all that time. There must have been something wrong with certain internet connections: Nothing to do with the Badweb software IMO. Hans. | ||

Malevolent forces may be at work. New version is on its way, but we will let it work through the bugs before implementing it here. What particularly, other than the goofy auto-archiving here do you see needs upgrading Mike (Mmmi_grad)? If the site search is not working as you like, try the google search. They have most all our pages cached. Great resource that. | ||

We need a "State" category on the front page... So instead of everyone that has an XB talks with XB guys, people with XB's and people with Old School Buells from the same state can talk and orchestrate Rides... Just an Idear Kokko | ||

Blake thats easy a most popular form is this http://forums.pcper.com/forumdisplay.php?s=9f17b297e7e97ac3c9feaf31b276ce12&foru mid=28 this is another forum I like to play in http://forum.lockon.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=33 Its based in Russia very similar to the pcper software. I have been useing one of these forums for over 5 years and the second about the same time. The small gripes lay with an overall feel. I like the archive links but I dont like a thread not going back up to the top if someone posted in it . Not cool with me. The search feature has to be ELITE like the mentioned places are. Search failures in forums or websites •••• me off to an unexplainable degree. Understand I have some small gripes but my biggest is coming from personal preferance and wanting to roll with software that is more familier to me in my everyday computering. Not there there is alot wrong with Badweb , just there are some big differences compared to very large forums. SO dont even get my started on " hey its this way " or " its our way" no need to go there. Actually I thinking about the future when I wrote these two. I can dig character and personality as we should. But times are changing and things are getting bigger faster and we all just wana go fast too often sometimes..... | ||

Kokko, Are you meaning something like the "Storm Fronts" page? Done! Mike, I guess I need something more than what you are saying to tell me what is more to your liking on other forums. We can make BadWeB look pretty much any way we like. And we can add all kinds of bells and whistles too. So what is it you are suggesting? FYI, BadWeB does now support most of the popular [BBS] code type [/BBS] formatting tags. | ||

I don't like the way those two forums look at all. Very common indeed throughout the www. The comic sans is great. Leave it alone. I would prefer the topic fonts to be all the same, or at least displayed neater. I wish (as they don't from time to time) that all recent posts would appear when I new search - the way I always enter the BadWeB. Rocket | ||

An additional email function would be great. I use the StormFronts section a lot, trying to get a group together. Although I didn't start the thread, I would like to be able to get additions to it emailed to me, but only from my group. Could you set up another option in user profiles or on StormFronts itself to have new posts sent out from continuously added-to threads, kinda like the Pics thread? | ||

Oh, and is there a way to change post order from descending to ascending within a thread,like the way threads are listed within a topic? | ||

If I understand you correctly the emailing feature already offers what you are wanting, to be able to receive new posts only from specific Storm Fronts groups. In your profile click on the "Choose" button next to the "Storm Fronts" topic and have at it. All topics except for the Links page are set up to show new posts at the bottom. We tried it the other way once and it was horrible. Especially if you wanted to post. |
