The Miles are on September 4 & 5 (Labor Day Weekend). I just bought my tickets. Section NN, Row 1 Seat 1.

If I could only see one race for the rest of my life, it would be the Springfield Mile!

So no more Memorial day race?

I guess not. I suspect that the May Mile got rained out once too many times and the promoter got tired of losing money. Also, AFT seems to be pushing for two events per weekend at many venues.

I have no problem with seeing two Miles on one weekend, though. And there's also the Short Track races on Friday night, which makes for even more racing.

I'm not as big a fan of the Short track races as I am of the Mile, though. I love seeing some of the best motorcycle racers on the planet going 140 MPH on a horse track inches apart.

When Troy Corser decided to try his hand at Flat Track, there were all kinds of pundits saying he would dominate. He never even made a Main. Flat track takes a different set of skills from Road Racing. I've seen several fast Flat Trackers go on to be champion Road Racers, but I've never seen the opposite happen.
