Yeah, Marquez won... BUT -

Fabio Quateraro had the pace like nobody else but Mark himself.

Fabio is dishing out the punishment big style and I think next year he will be The One to challenge Marc for the championship. Any team that isn't trying to figure out a way to acquire him is making a mistake in my opinion.

An unfortunate turn for the rookie Frenchman in Philips Island... but I'm looking at him to bring some serious heat in Sepang.

I had a bad feeling last year when it was announced that Lorenzo would be moving to Honda. He and Marquez are the polar OPPOSITES in riding styles. Lorenzo has a smooth, almost robotic riding style that I enjoy watching for its grace and precision. Marquez is basically crashing and recovering in every corner.

Zarco's style is very similar to Lorenzo's which is why he struggled so much with the KTM. Perhaps riding that beast prepared him for the Honda because he's doing a better job than I expected with it.

Quartararo is another one with that smooth, precise style. The Yamaha was built around that from all the years of Lorenzo's success so that shouldn't be too surprising. It's a shame Lorenzo didn't get snapped up by Suzuki; I suspect that combination would've been devastating.

Thank God somebody came to their senses. At least he can avoid tarnishing his own legacy any further.

Would have been better to get out last year when he at least had triple digits in the points.

It's sad, really. He used to be very good. He hasn't been for 3 solid years.

All I've found are articles implying that Marc would be happy with that. Nothing else. Of course, as far as Honda is concerned, whatever Marc wants, he'll probably get.

Wow! The MotoGP season HAS gotten long! I just happened across an article about the winner of the Macau GP, but that race traditionally happened well after the MotoGP season had ended. How are they going to fit even MORE races on to the schedule??? When are the riders supposed to be able to get a break?

https://us.motorsport.com/motogp/news/repsol-honda -alex-marquez-2020/4598081/

The way it originally popped up on my phone made it seem like it was a done deal. Everything else I've seen since makes it seem like it's still a rumor.

Marc himself said there are several riders being considered, but wouldn't really comment on whether he thought it was happening.

I've thought "what if" about this very thing quite a lot. I never thought it would happen... I thought for sure Zarco or an outside chance that Quateraro would get recruited...

We'll see.

What'd I tell you? Whatever Marc wants, Marc gets. Hoping Yamaha can give Vinales and Rossi the machine they both need to kick Honda's ass next season.

Whatever Marc wants, Marc gets.

With good reason.

Hoping Yamaha can give Vinales and Rossi the machine they both need to kick Honda's ass next season.

Vinales is coming back around, but the one to watch will be Quateraro, I think.

Quateraro is showing it's not necessarily the Yamaha's that are the issue. Quateraro could be a real threat next year.
Unfortunately it's time for Rossi to pull a Lorenzo before he really gets hurt. Riding in the top 10 for a 40 year old is incredible, but it's time to go.
Vinales has speed, he's missing a piece of the puzzle that keeps him from moving forward.
I think Honda pulled a s*** show move. Two brothers on the same team, what's that going to do, potentially destroy the Marquez brothers. The number one rule in Motogp is beat your teammate.

You mean like the two Bauman brothers on the Indian team in American Flat Track?

Two brothers can be incredibly competitive even when they're on the same team. Sibling rivalry is real and sometimes the little brother is really driven to beat the elder.

I believe that Marc will train and help his brother to the best of his ability, until race day. Then, it will be on and cracking.

I seriously doubt that anything will drive a wedge between those two. Marc is Alex's biggest fan, and I don't think that's going to change.

If Alex were to beat Marc, I sincerely believe that nobody would be more proud than Marc himself.

We'll see if I'm wrong. This morning's testing session had Alex at the rear of the pack, but it's pretty much his first outing on a premier class bike.

Damn, the original story I saw at Crash.net implied that Karel was voluntarily calling it quits in MotoGP. Apparently, that's not the case at ALL.

https://www.asphaltandrubber.com/motogp/karel-abra ham-firing-interview/

According to the article, Abraham happens to be a lawyer himself. This could turn out to be very interesting...

My friend brought up a really good point: Ant West and Andrea Iannone are facing permanent suspensions for drug use, but Romano Fenati is welcomed back to the paddock after attempted murder...
