I love Mugelllo. Great circuit. Fast and flowing which suits the Yamaha. And the Master is on pole. Let's see if his tires can last race distance.

Latest rumor is that Lorenzo would be going to the factory Honda team, and Pedrosa to the satellite Yamaha team. Interesting times ahead.

Doesn't look much like rumor... Lorenzo is signed, according to the article.

And the championship tightens...I would have liked to have seen the grin on Rossi's face as MM slid off into the gravel right in front of him. Still amazes me that someone crashing right merely inches in front doesn't even faze them...brilliant control over the instinct to target fixate.

I kept waiting for him to pick it back up and keep riding as is normal... but there wasn't quite enough pavement left for him to pull it off.

On another topic: I don't know how competitive they'll be, but I think MV Agusta may just have the best looking bike on the Moto2 grid next year:

MV has always made sexy ass bikes. Not very practical, but what repli-racer is? The F4 with the quad exhaust out the back might be the best looking bike of all time IMHO.

I would LOVE to see Dani on a factory-supported Yamaha. I think his style would suit the bike well. I would also like to see him winning races on that same Yamaha just to rub it into Puig's face.

Wasn't Pedrosa struggling with the new Michelins? They had to make the carcasses stiffer because of the failures, which meant he couldn't get enough heat in the tire because he weighs 75 pounds?

IDK. Time flies so this might be old info, but I believe it was true at some point.

But qualifying 20th on a factory Honda is just not acceptable.

That's true. One article also implied Puig hadn't forgiven him for firing him as his manager a couple of years back.

Haven't heard anything more about him. Hope he doesn't decide to pack it in, though.

I no longer hold any ill will towards him for the 2006 incident. What he did was a bone-headed move but it was PUIG who made it worse. Stories later reported that Dani apologized to Nicky and even promised to aid him if he could at the final round. He's okay in my book now.

You do realize that Google search results are going to give you things that you normally search for?

My search results show me nothing of the kind, unless I scroll about two pages down

Just saying.

How important is it? I don't care if they are gay or straight or bisexual or even neutered. They happen to be two of the fastest MotoGP riders in the world. I openly admit that I'm a diehard Rossi fan and I think he might just be the greatest Formula 1/MotoGP rider of all time. Still, as he fades from the edge he had when he was decimating the competition, he's riding with the front runners. Marquez is very fast, as is Lorenzo.

I try to not get caught up in the petty dramas; I just enjoy seeing Aliens doing what I never will be able to do; and they do it as a matter of course.

Just remember; the slowest rider on the grid could whip any of our asses at any time on any track.

My only point being here John, is that this is no place for the gay bashing or gay associating or whatever you want to call it.

There are a couple of people here who keep posting the childish crap that has nothing whatever to do with the subject at hand, and is just an irritant... when it's repeated - over and over again.

Rossi is currently the Greatest Of All Time - up to the present. There are a couple of serious challengers to the lofty position which he now occupies.

It's an historic thing to watch as the young vie for the grandeur of the old.

Rossi is not my favorite rider, Marquez is - and Lorenzo is Gretchen's favorite. The fact they are now on the same team is really kind of exciting for us.

OK, the gay jokes might have been funny to some, the first time. The second, third, fourth, ad hominem ad nauseam - well, you get the picture.

With the repetitive theme, it makes one wonder about the inner daemons of the ones who keep posting it.

For the record, if they were gayliens, I really wouldn't care.

Rossi is doing incredible things at age 37. He's competitive in Motogp where he's got nearly 15 years on the kids. This is just another reason he's the GOAT. Two decades of excellence at the highest levels of motorcycle racing.

Marquez is incredible on a motorcycle. He reminds me much of Stoner. Great talents that aren't fan favorites.

I know this is 2018 and hypersensitivity in en vogue, but you guys can stop being PC about the gay stuff. I didn't make any of the Jlo/MM memes or whatever you call them. And there are LOTS of them out there. How can you not laugh When you look at Jlo's expression in the pic on the left?

You missed my point entirely.

Post the stupid memes in the meme thread.

You have posted that same one several times and it's just lame now.

Marquez is better than Rossi ever was and I believe he will take all his records away unless he gets killed in the process.

Yes we will. You can all tell me how wrong I am 20 years from now.

At the same age, he's already shattered every record held by anybody in a comparable time period or age range.

Nothing less than a phenomenon.

That being said, the fact that Rossi is still riding as well as he is... is ALSO a phenomenon.

It is my belief that it will be overshadowed by Marquez.

"Marquez is better than Rossi ever was "

He hasn't faced (nor beaten) anything like the quality of racers Rossi has season after season.

Let's not forget, had Marquez not deliberately slowed Rossi in 2015, Rossi might well have won another championship.

And if Marquez hadn't punted Rossi off in Argentina the championship standing would currently be Marquez 95 Rossi 85.

Marquez is a wizard on a bike. Rossi is not just a wizard, he's the GOAT. Marquez can only dream of becoming the GOAT.

To catch Rossi is not a question of who can ride a bike better as that's likely impossible to call and utterly subjective today, so we can only rely on the statistics.

Statistically Marquez is 14 years behind. That's a lot of catching up to do, or a lot of time to catch up. Either way it's highly unlikely we'll see another rider have the opportunity to race competitively at top level as Rossi has and still is. No other rider has anything like the popularity to keep the factory teams interested in keeping them racing beyond their worth. In Marquez's case, if he does prove a worthy racer all the way to his 40th, I doubt the public will embrace him the way they do Rossi. Thus his financial value won't be anything like Rossi's so he'd have to be winning races and winning championships to stay in the game, where as Rossi doesn't.

A disingenuous argument at best. He consistently beats Rossi himself. Season after season.

Many of those other riders you allude to have come out and called Marquez a phenomenon, like nothing they have ever seen.

So, there's that.
