Hugh, I noticed in the first picture that she is wearing her credentials around her wrist while others in the picture wear them around their neck. I bet one there has a problem with it.

I wouldn't trust or believe a word that guy says.
He has proven time and time again to have an agenda.

Sometimes it is interesting to go to superbike planet for the pictures. Is this a Buell framed XR1000?

I use to own and tune a BMW and later a Moto Guzzi that Cory West's dad rode in the Battle of the Twins against Lucerfer's Hammer first with Jay Springsten riding it and then Gene Church. That was before Buell existed. As I recall Lucifers Hammer was Harley Roadracer from the early 70's refitted with a 1000 cc motor.

Some info on Lucifer's Hammer and Lucifer's Hammer 2.

The link above appears to be the early transition from the original LH to LH2.

There's (some) more out there on both bikes if one does some research,

I think that is the LH2 bike that was one of the very first RR1000's built by Erik for HOG. It was part of how the project was paid for. The frame and most of the body work are RR1000. Since it is one of the first two built they're were minor changes between it and the first production bike.

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/hero-ebr-world -superbike-team-to-learn-fate-thursday/

I think our man from Superbike planet may have been spot on. Its getting harder not to look at HERO as being a MAJOR factor in what has happened especially since everyone went out their way to explain that HERO was the one funding the racing side of things.

“I will tell you it doesn’t look very good,” Pegram told Roadracingworld.com Wednesday, “but we have one more thing we’re gonna try. If it doesn’t happen then we’re probably gonna pull out of Imola for sure and try to get back for Donington [Park]. Basically, I’ll know tomorrow whether we’re pulling out or not. Our deadline is tomorrow on stuff.”

That statement confuses me. If there's not enough cash to make the next race, how do you pay the crew in between to make it back.

This has screwed a ton of people over! Employees, customers, dealers and now Pegram who had a successful team in MotoAmerica which will now be broken up, not to mention his TV deal. Then there's Canepa a rising star who will suddenly be left without a ride in the middle of the season.

If HERO turns out to be the CAUSE of all of this and not plain old market factors they will have bought enough bad blood that selling bikes in the US will become a pipe dream, even if they own all the equipment and pick up the old EBR factory lease. It all just disgusting!

I suspect time will spotlight HERO as not only being the cause but also a host of malicious acts of what is effectively commercial entrapment.

But . . that's just a wild ass guess.

^ That analysis sounds like it came from a New York corporate lawyer and there might be legal recourse if such actions were proven.

This is also a VERY wild ass guess.

quote:

Insiders say that Hero has not paid EBR about $20 million owed for engineering and design work EBR did on 13 new Hero models for the Indian market. EBR bore the expense of the engineering and design work, then ran out of operating capital while waiting to be paid for that work, those insiders said.
Speculation is rampant that Hero delayed payment to force EBR into receivership so it could pay less to acquire the part of the company it didn’t already own. Since EBR’s troubles went public, Hero representatives have been in contact with engineers who worked for EBR.

EBR withdraws from World Superbike.

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/its-official-t eam-hero-ebr-withdraws-from-fim-superbike-world-ch ampionship/#.VUGjuNFFWOM.facebook

It appears that Hero pulled the funding for that too.

I feel sorry for everybody ....... It is sad

I did not know Pegram... I do not have the chance to watch AMA in any European TV chanel.....For me I had a chance to get to know Larry Pegram, from this EBR efford in the WSBK... I respect this person as a racer and as a manager, now...... Well done Larry !

I feel sorry for Canepa , expecialy that he doesn't have the opportunity to race in his home race in Imola......

I feel sorry for the mechanics that had to move to Europe ...

It seems that HERO have made a big "damage" to EBR..... firstly they gave him money to expand , he started to built a lot of bikes to meet WSBK homologation numbers, this forced EBR in the corner by growing beyond his real capabilities...and now , they left ! That is sad....

Who would know if Hero has paid its bills to EBR? How liquid is Hero's capital at the moment? i.e. Can they afford to pay? I seem to recall reading that Hero as an entity had suffered some reverses of late.
If and when Hero pays up would this get EBR out of receivership?

So what if EBR ended up with legal ownership of the Hastur and the RNT, along with the 1190 RX and 1190SX?

That's a pretty cool portofolio!

Sounds like we know who the bad guy was. And it sounds like my previous assertions about where to borrow money, where I put Hero as a step above a Mafia loan, was actually inaccurate. The Hero loan *was* the Mafia loan.

Hmmm I wonder if they will pull their golf tourney sponsorship as well? Tigers Woods may want start looking for a new sponsor too. Sucks EBR won't be at Imola, that's a good track for Canepa and even better for the 1190RX they did ok last year as I recall.

I guess Johnny Rea can sleep at night now knowing he won't have to content with 1190's on the grid eating into his points totals.

I've seen some people batting around the idea of a crowdfunding campaign to help EBR, but that would probably be just a drop in the bucket compared to what they need.

OTOH, Larry Pegram and Niccolo Canepa just got their Hero sponsorship pulled yesterday. I believe Larry posted that the team has bikes and plenty of parts. I wonder what it would take to field at least Nic for the upcoming race in Italy?

THAT would be pretty amazing publicity for EBR.
