Unfortunately it's not televised or listed on TVRacer.com.

Good Luck Cory!

Cory won the F1 BOTT today beating Chris Fillmore on his KTM Superbike riding a stock 1190RX. He then placed second in the Sound of Thunder behind Jason Disalvo on his Daytona Sportbike Triumph and besting Fillmore's KTM again.

The race again tomorrow.

That is so cool.

Cory . . . like Geoff and Danny . . . is not only a skilled racer but one of the finest diplomats EBR could have out on the "world facing" side of things.

The kid (I know . . but when you get in your 60's . . everybody is a kid) is a total class act.

I recall Erik plotting to talk to Cory and his Dad at Race America the first time he approached Cory about riding. We waited until the end of the day . . . the rest of the family went home and I sat for a couple hours while Erik visited with Cory and his Dad.

I am proud of his results but more proud to have him representing the skills of EBR and The Elves.

I always enjoy hearing when others recognize that Cory is a class act. It is something that I have known since he was a little kid.

His dad is like a brother to me because we have been though a lot together, good times and bad times, at the races and in life. So I have always considered Cory as a nephew.

1986 me standing behind Cory's dad on my Moto Guzzi at Daytona. (208). That was Cory's first trip to Daytona at 1 1/2 years old. Racing is in his blood.

Cory won Sunday's BOTT F1 race again. He had a good battle with Disalvo and Fillmore in the Sound of Thunder race but finished 3rd.

I got to meet Cory and Danny this weekend, and was impressed with how nice and fan oriented they are. It was funny when a Ducati team came over with arms crossed questioning the stock state of the 1190rx. That EBR was tearing it up, and it looked incredibly well composed!

@Ljm, it was after they had their butts handed to them lol. Supposedly they had 40k invested into a bike that was in the neighborhood of 10 seconds behind the EBR at the checkered flag.

Cory looked great riding the EBR this past weekend. Pat Mooney proved once again that he's no slouch.

Here is a video from my bike from Saturdays Formula 1 race. You can see Cory slip by me going into turn 5 on the second lap. I had to work hard to get past the initial leader of the race who was on a very quick Ducati 1198 on my 1125R.
Cory was on a virtually stock EBR 1190RX, it still had the catalytic convertor on it! He's a class act on a first class bike and I'm so glad Erik Buell was up in the commentary booth to see it.
Pat Mooney.

Pat

Loved the video. Thank you for posting it. What type of work was done to your engine? How does it compare to the Ducati's acceleration? I noticed that your bike has an unusual growl when backing off of the throttle. It sounds much different than my track 1125R. Perhaps mine is the same but not heard from the riders perspective.

Somebody passed you like he was FLYING around the 9 min mark, was that Cory?

Cory passed him at the 3:10 mark. Yellow bike with black leathers. Since Cory had no AHRMA points he had to start at the back.

Pat,

same question about the bike. Yours sounded different than anyone elses. Is it the exhaust, cams?

It sounded raspy in a wierd way. Not bad. Just different than what I was used to.

I was standing on the black box in Aces corner most of the afternoon Sunday cheering on the Buells and EBR. I was happy to see a xb out there punching it out too!

I had my little racer in training with me. She loves watching the bikes.

Hi guys, the growl on deceleration is the chain drive which you will not get with the belt drive , if that's what you have on your track 1125R.
The engine is to Daytona Sportbike Specs so the cams are standard and it makes around 150 rwhp. I wonder if the raspy sound you heard from trackside is the EBR race exhaust system as it's been on there since '09 and I've never re-packed it!
The acceleration seemed to be pretty close to the 1198 Ducati that I was chasing at the beginning, and finally got around a bit later in the race. Another guy posted a video from this race from his Panigale (he was on the front row also) and the 1125R looked very similar to that too.
The guy that went by quite quickly later in the race was Darren Fry on a Panigale, he came over from England for the race, he finished second.
Malott, that's great that your little girl loves watching the bikes! My son and Grandson were there watching, they had a great time too.
Pat Mooney.

I bet it is the chain drive. I am still running a belt since I have not been able to find a chain drive kit. It makes sense that the chain drive would make a different noise when backing off of the throttle. Like you, my exhaust is lacking of packing material. I noticed that it has developed a much different sound as the fiberglass depletes.

Thank you for the movie clip and information.

Great to see everyone there! Cory was amazing on that yellow RX. Nice guy too! I got to follow Pat's friend on Pat's backup bike while i tried to get up to speed! Finished all the laps and had good fun! See you at Daytona!

Geesh! I'm watching that video thinking these guys are amazing to be able to pilot such good bikes at such a good pace, and then Cory and a mostly stock EBR walks by and just vanishes over the horizon...

That EBR is FAST.

I hope what I say here is taking in the benign spirit in which it is given.

It goes to show the level of talent PRO racers have vs the really good club racer vs a really good pro vs the elites at the front in various pro series.

For the average mortal, the RX is a stupid fast mount that can run near the front if you have the ability with a very very few modifications to go racing.

Great job Corey! Particularly against a VERY GOOD rider in person of Chris Filmore on that pesky KTM. Go EBR!

Correction on my earlier post. It turns out that though Chris Fillmore was entered in the BOTT F-1 he did not ride because he chose to ride his Sound of Singles machine because those classes were run together.

Cory did beat him on his twin on Saturday in the sound of thunder race, but Chris got the better of Cory on Sunday in that class.

Awesome video Manxman! Woohoo! Those 250 two-strokes(I'm assuming) come up fast! Sheesh.

You were right on the edge a couple times, and your line in that long left-hander really gained you some ground.

Very smart racing.

Blake, Thanks for the compliments! My best lap time in the race was 1.42 seconds off Cory's best, so I was very happy to be that close to such a talented racer. This was actually my first road race, on a proper set up bike, since March too!
The new 1190RX is a great machine and I'd love to end up racing one in the future at some time.
Nobuell, I have a brand new chain drive kit that I never used for an 1125R, still in the box.
Pat Mooney.

Yep. That's me at the 8:57 mark. Thanks for not smacking me on the ass when you went by! (you crazy fast bastard!) Congrats on a couple of great weekends Pat.

For what it's worth, the view when Cory passed me between turns 2 and 3 was epic. The EBR was stunningly smooth and remarkably quiet given the speed it was travelling.
