AMA Pro Racing engaged in good faith negotiations with the event's rights holder, but, ultimately, was unable to reach an agreement in the best interest of all parties involved.

That interprets as 'Dorna wanted us to pay them for TV coverage, and we still owe from last year, so no TV'

The next announcement will probably (hopefully) be 'AMA Pro racing has sold its US Superbike series to DORNA with immediate effect'.

I'd prefer a head line like

"Superbike Shootout to return with full 12 round schedule in 2015.

or

"WERA and CMRA announce new 15 round combined national championship series"

Both have more TV coverage than AMA PRo! I don't see how they will be able to do anything other than Daytona next year. If I'm a track owner, there's no way I would pay them to host their event. Its a wrap.

15 rounds is a lot at the club level, but the national endurance series partnership between the clubs has gone over very well. Exciting racing, too!

I think it's possible we could see some ProAm type stuff develop in the coming years.

Tweet from Cory this morning.

@Corywest13: Difficult race yesterday. Didn't change anything after Q but had no rear grip in the race, battled thru and got 7th. Learning a lot tho!

Anybody know what's going on at Mid-Ohio this morning? Superbike qualifying is apparently happening right now, but the live timing is hosed up and only showing 6 bikes on the track with no changes in lap or segment times.

What a day. The road races at Mid Ohio got rained out and the Gray's Harbor 1/2 Mile in Washington state got rained out, too. Sure hope Mother Nature is in a better mood today.

We had a nice day of Lacrosse a couple hours south of Mid Ohio yesterday, always threatened rain but not a single drop fell. Not sure if we will be as lucky today.

Hope they get to race... it's already been a hard season for the AMA series. I feel sorry for Josh Hayes who has worked so hard and done so much right just to win in a crashing series.

What happened to Pegram in race 2? I missed something and did not hear it mentioned again.

Scott Russell is great! All busted up from a recent motocross crash and makes it to the race to commentate.

You are mistaken, Chris Fillmore and the KTM finished higher in the 2013 standings than the EBR's

7 Chris Fillmore 183 10 8 9 8 5 7 7 7 5 8 19 5 6 7 0
8 Aaron Yates 162 11 19 12 9 10 11 6 6 7 12 6 7 11 5 0
9 Geoff May 161 7 16 7 22 7 8 5 5 6 9 5 9 7 16 0

2012 was the best year for EBR in AMA superbike. Geoff finished the season in 5th

Rsh, I also see that the EBRīs get off the competition in relation to the KTM year after year. Might be that Austria use the AMA platform to play a bit around with future stuff, as they these days announced that they will not go WSBK with that old bike.

Anyhow, as I know a bit of the KTM, it surprise me that they are doing so good against the EBR. Special after I learned that Pegrams Foremost Team really understand what they are doing...

As I am not so much into AMA Racing. Is it that the EBR in general lost against the competitors or is it that KTM made bigger progress?

Fillmore is healthy too, unlike last year.

At Mid Ohio, Fillmore ran 4th position, for most of race 2, with an open track, no drafting, and no pressure from the 5th position...The same for Hayden in the 3rd position.

Pegram finished the 2009 and 2010 superbike season in 4th.
The teams results have been up and down since they stopped racing the "factory" Ducati in 2011.

Pegram worked on developing the BMW S1000RR without factory help in 2011 and 2012 and finished 7th both seasons.

Larry thought he had the magic bullet in 2013 getting a Yamaha just like Josh Hayes rides.
Initial results were promising and started the season on the podium.
Remaining race results were varied and picked up at seasons end finishing 6th.

I don't know if Larry's team has a handle on the EBR, they do have a lot of experience.
The EBR factory needs to be more involved if possible, blowing engines regularly is a design or engineering issue.

What happened with the group that got the 1125 that Danny rode to the Daytona Sportbike Championship.
I remember they had a few experienced high value people on board and did not have the problems we see now.

Nothing has changed, Filmore is just a quicker rider period. In race trim the RC8R is a devastating machine.

In terms of power and handling the EBR's and the KTM are a toss up. Filmore is a very talented guy with HUGE corner speed, which plays into the favor of the RC8. Most of the successful EBR guys have been really good on the brakes and really high corner speed types. Filmore I'd say is easily better than most of the grid on the brakes. Hayes being the only guy I think significantly is better. If he were on the EBR he'd still be bringing home 4ths and 5ths and challenging for a third or to now and then. Just my opinion.

Only in the AMA, nowhere else sadly.

I am pretty sure this is because of lack of depth in AMA racing, becaue there are simply few top class bikes in the series. No factory spec Kawasaki,BMW,Honda,Ducati,MV,Bimota in AMA so very little competiton for the Yamah and Suzuki teams.

Filmore may be a great rider but his performance is flattered by the series he is in : ( The bike is now ageing and KTM don't think it is suitable for WSB or BSB competition.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Since this is the AMA thread, and we are talking about AMA riders, on AMA Spec machines, on AMA tracks we aren't actually concerned at the moment with anywhere else, particularly WSbk or BSB.

"I ask EBR they said that KTM had a lot of speed parts h-------? in this year that's why they are faster."

That seems to be the answer for everything as of late!

I assume that EBR has inside info on this, or was that just a guess (excuse)?

Chris Fillmore ran very close to the same times last year as he is this year?

I guess the "speed parts" are not doing so well for Fillmore then
