Radiator is in the tail which is the purpose of the large air scoop in front. I'll have a video with more info up on Crotchrocket.tv soon. It's absolutely sick what Shawn Higbee can do on this bike. You will not believe some of the passes he makes on the liter bikes.
I was there with my 1190RS, but it developed "problems" in Saturday practice and I did not make the race. Argh!

The Brough Superior Carbon2 bike is designed and built by Paul Taylor of Taylor Made Racing - racetaylormade.com
We are trying to put a deal together to enter the bike as a wild card at the Sliverstone race in England, with Luke Mossey in the saddle. Luke was there to test and race, but a previous shoulder injury flared up an prevented his racing. Shawn has been the development rider and was able to step in.

Love the Taylor Made Moto2 bike, but why call it a Brough Superior : (

I know that someone is trying to sell hideously overpriced modern versions of the original Brough, but can't people think up a new name these days?

Luke Mossey seems a strange choice for a Moto2 wild card in the UK. Surely there are better UK racers than him right now? Any of the current Supersport leaders would be better I think (contracts permitting).

Contracts permitting. Finding a rider is as much politics as anything else. You also have to find funding for a particular rider. There are numerous reasons why people will or won't back a rider, many of which have nothing to do with laptimes or finishes. Two years of racing has taught me many harsh lessons about just how difficult and expensive it is to field a wining team. That Paul has done this on his own, is truly extraordinary.
Brough Superior has a tradition of building fast, technically advanced motorcycles. The brand has been relaunched by a group of enthusiasts and they wanted an advanced modern bike to represent that tradition. So far the co-branding has been very good for the Paul and the bike. For example Jay Leno did a segment about the bike on Big Dog's Garage because he is a Brough collector.

Wasn't meant as a criticism of the carbon bike at all, just the name of it : ( Though I understand the attention the name will bring. The bike itself is a welcome change to the usual Moto2 fare and I hope it does well. Teams and manufacturers are just too conservative simply because they don't want to take a risk on something other than a known winning formulae.
This one looks very similar to the 'clamshell' design that Peter Williams has been working on for a few years.
The only other Moto2 bike as technically advanced as this was the Vyrus, and they couldn't get anyone to race it because it was so different : (

Luke Mossey is certainly an up and coming UK racer and good luck to him on this bike : ) (If Luke can't ride it for whatever reason try Ollie Linsdell - a very underrated young rider who tend to race on the roads and in classic races, but would be great on a modern bike too : ) )

I can now announce the Cory West will be racing at round 2 of the Superbike Shootout. Kudos to K & L Supply for helping to make this happen.

Good deal on Cory. Looks to be shaping up to be a nice series. Competition was good, at least from the live timing, some new people are coming on board and some out of retirement, and they are releasing press releases almost daily. I really think that they are on to something too, including it with other races. Keeps things going, and no doubt helps defray costs of the facility. Also, gives a bunch of people who aspire to AMA level competition to give it a go.

Where is Danny Eslick this weekend?

I expected to see his name either in the Shootout or BSB Superstock but he doesn't seem to feature in either?

Very respectable. Would have been nice to see what EBR's factory team would have done if they had stayed in AMA but as the races have pretty much diminished to just 6 races quite possible they will have better exposure in WSB. Well done Cory! Now kick some ass.

That is what I thought. He rode a Kawasaki in the previous round of BSB Superstock at Easter but his name isn't on the entry list for this weekend at Oulton park, so I thought he would be at Sonoma (but isn't there either).

I just had a text exchange with Cory and I asked why he thought the KTM was faster than the EBR. His one word answer? Electronics. He said that all of the top teams are running electronics with rider assist except one and that is him. He depends entirely on his twist of the wrist.

I would say he does a hell of a job of it to run with those guys.
