http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/cmra-and-wera- joining-forces-in-us-national-endurance-series-in- 2014/

And so the first obstacle in the collapse of DMG's house of cards falls. The joining of WERA and CMRA would form the basis for a truly national series that could bring racing to nearly half of the lower 48. The infrastructure for such a series will be laid in this mutual venture. DMG/AMA wake up and get it together because your replacements are starting to take shape.

Well, after initially denying the rumors, "The Worm" turns:

Excellent! That team has a ton of experience, I bet they will bring valuable information to the table.

Well, after initially denying the rumors, "The Worm" turns

Larry denied the rumor he'd be riding a Buell this season, so his earlier statements were truthful.

I think the standard response from anyone on an EBR to the question of "...isn't that a Buell..." should be "Nope no relation"

Good move by the EBR from a publicity standpoint and though Pegram is off the pace of the winners, he will fight for the thrid step most tracks.

The name "Buell" is owned by Harley-Davidson as is each and every part on platforms that appear, to the untrained eye, similar . . such as the 1125 series.

While there is some congruence in terms of appearance one of the initial EBR challenges was pretty much starting from square one.

It'll be fun to have racing going on in the USA while the WSBK effort is taking place around the world.

This is very exciting.

See ya at the races. . . .

While there is practically zero chance of me making a WSBK event, I just put in for vacation in March to make the trip to Daytona.

I think he will, He's kinda like Eslik, the V twin suits his riding style better. That leaves the question of whom is Cory West going to be riding with?

Eslick had a championship on the GSXR prior to the 1125r and then again after the Buell. It very hard to say that the twin suits his riding style.

Bads1 I beg to differ, Eslick way of attacking the corner super hard on the brakes and driving out flowed way better during his years on the twins. All of these guys are superior riders who can make just about anything go fast but watching them IMHO they all have set ups they are more comfortable pushing faster and subsequently are faster on. Pegram and Eslick are both more aggressive and quicker on twins even when the twins happened to be slower(top end) machines. Unfortunately he will only have 6 races so far this season to prove it.

Its strictly your opinion. He did just as well on the GSXR. Yes I've watched him year after year at RA. Danny is a great guy. Met him several times. Including at the shop this past year. But then again he is riding a Triumph this year.

Looks like Jake Holden will be back. He will be riding a Ducati Pingale. Great to see more twins out there.

nice Interview by Eric and it was very clear in saying the egine is built by EBR, not Rotax like many people are missinformed.
I just saw the Velocity show of Pegram and its great, can't wait for this season on the EBR.

quote:

the egine (sic) is built by EBR

Hmmmmm... I find this a little hard to believe. Erik never built his own engines before (he always sourced them from someone else; either Harley or Rotax). I can't see how his vastly smaller company now suddenly got the capability to build engines from scratch.

I CAN see him MODIFYING the Rotax-supplied engines to suit his needs (just as he did with the Harley lumps at the beginning of his career) though.

I can also imagine the engines being built by HERO to his specifications, but I haven't seen any articles to back that up either.

Remember, he always said the Rotax-built engine was NOT a Rotax engine, it was a Buell engine that Rotax happened to build for them.

Need Court or someone else in the know to elaborate.

Listen to the podcast an Erik pretty well explains about EBR building it's own engines starting at about the 2:20 mark or so.

Every engine is built in East Troy, Wisconsin using components from around the world

The fact that Pegram brings a (fiscally) successful team and sponsors to the table allows EBR to have excellent publicity and a high caliber operation in AMA with much lower investment. Hopefully the rumor of a second rider for the team is true. Would be nice to see West on that second seat.

Hayden still has not announced who he is riding for and the only superbike team to actually have entered any of the 6 races that will compose the season so FAR is Monster Yamaha. Still the Foremost EBR has my attention, though I'm not sure I will see anything beyond the 200 at Daytona. Exciting and sad at the same time.

Dead accurate.

And . . . is an EBR designed motor.

Court remember the Ulysses ad with all the flags of the different countries where the components came from. We need one for the 1190 engine alone. That way when these comment threads come up the ad can be posted. I listened to the Motopod cast and the guy interviewing Erik still thought it was a Rotex powerplant.

I think this needs to be brought out front and center. By building their own engine EBR is in no way shape or form a boutique mfg.

Even though the pictures from my cell phone may not be the clearest, the message from these scenes from the video shown at the AIMExpo in Orlando spoke loud and clear to me.

Every bolt RS - NOT 1190RS

Every bolt 1190RX

here's moar:

Roger Hayden to Yoshimura Suzuki AMA Pro Superbike

"..... I got the chance to ride the Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000 last year and the test went really good. I was fast on the bike and worked well with the team. I have to thank Suzuki and Yoshimura for making this happen.

I’m really looking forward to the 2014 season. Daytona can’t come soon enough

That's great news for Hayden, bad for Pegram and Foremost/EBR/Hero. I'm really glad he found a ride. 6 races is still tough to swallow. We may wind up seeing more of the races on Superbike Family than anywhere else.
