May and Yates get to keep their AMA numbers. That will make it a little easier to spot them.

There's a might fair share of EVO BMWs on that list. While they are listed as Superbikes for the first few races at least EBR will have essentially EVO machinery circulating around out there. What shocks me is that there is no EVO Honda entry.

Honda puts very little into WSB since they left a few years ago. The Pata Honda team is suposed to be the 'factory' team but it is far form it in reality. Cosworth build the engines and the team are using their own electronics this year after the HRC kit proved so horrendous last year.
The Honda Fireblade is also pretty long in the tooth now by WSB standards and even with the laetst updates isn't really a viable privateer team bike.

Honda don't even have a team in BSB this year (after winning it last year with Alex Lowes).

I would prefer it if people here would just copy and paste text from Stuporbikeplanet's articles rather than us clicking on their links, thereby denying benefits of upping a few more website hits, but that's just IMHO. Or is that not the BadWeB way?

Some topics on the BadWeB recently have me wondering why some Americans are always wanting to punish others. It's just not very British, and it's not how you win friends.

Cutting and pasting without valid attribution is a copyright violation in the United States. I'd suspect it's the same in Europe.

If you want to snub Superbike Planet, then find the news item on another website. My experience, however, is that a lot of times you can't.

And the very fact that they're even reporting this is GOOD news. In the past it was like they went through great pains to avoid even mentioning Erik's company(ies) on their page. To me, that deserves support, not discouragement.

No one said not to provide attribution. The point, clearly made was to avoid posting hyperlinks to an organization that has a long history of antagonism and dishonesty in their reporting concerning anything Buell or EBR.

We'll forgive them if and when they reliably change their ways. That's not yet the case.

Not yet I for one believe that calling EBR's superbike effort Buell is not an accident or an over site. To what gain I have no idea other than to muck up the launch of EBR as a mainstream mfg.

Hero is putting out a parallel twin 600cc superbike. I don't like the front end styling, but the frame and tubular swingarm is very cool looking.

Somebody has been copying KTM haven't they?

Would be nice to see one Indian company (other than Royal Enfiedl) do soemthing different instead of blatant copies of other companies styling and engineering.

Well I studied engineering and the fact is there are only so many optimal ways to do a frame. If you go the trellis route and optimize it, its going to look like every other optimized trellis out there. If you under sling the exhaust you pretty much only have three options on how. EBR has a history of radical approaches, that aren't necessarily the cheapest, or easiest to implement, but end up being the no compromise approach to performance. This is a high volume cash cow not a no compromise performer, you can't compare the two. What..? Oh you meant the choice of colors... oh,yea well, you might have a point there.

I don't mean colours, I mean frame design and styling. The frame is much more similar to the KTM Duke/300 series than to any Tube frame Buell, as is the exhaust, body styling and even the colour scheme.

I know it has a parralel twin engine unlike the KTM, but I'd be willing to bet that the engine bears more than a passing resemblance to a Kawasaki ER6 motor ; )

Like I said EBR has a history of taking a radical approach to design in search of performance. The old tubers were not trellis frames in the modern sense and were certainly not the cheapest or easiest way to manufacture a frame. Boy did they work though! HERO is a volume manufacture and their designs will reflect it. EBR is an engineer driven racing firm and their designs reflect it.

"I'd be willing to bet that the engine bears more than a passing resemblance to a Kawi ER6 motor"

SO, are you saying that Kawi should have made a 600 version of the Z1000? Well... since they haven't let HERO step through the door. I think a parallel twin is a great idea. I bet you could hammer this thing and it won't want to kill you like a liter bike = more fun to ride IMO.}

NOOO, I'm saying that Kawasaki already make a 650cc twin cylinder engine for the ER6 (Ninja 650 to you) that has already been 'cloned' by Chinese comapny CF Moto for their bike and looks remarkably similar to the Hero rendering above.

Pretty much every motor I have seen from Hero so far has been a Honda copy, so it could even be their version of the 'old' CB500 twin. Either way I'd bet that there is nothing scintilatingly original in there at all.

Yamaha also have a 700cc twin being released this month in Europe. BMW have had a parallel twin of 800cc for years so there is nothing original here that I can see.

I may be old and blind, but I think they are pulling our shank. That motor looks photoshopped to me. If the chassis is real, I'll bet the actual motor looks very different.

But then again, I may be mistaken. I was once.
