On superbiek Planet they say that the new Ducati team boss says they are unlikly to join Honda and Yamaha at a test in Austin because of the cost. Guess I was incorrect that Audi will spendthe money needed to right this ship. I would think ever chance to test would be grabbed. | ||

Guess I was incorrect that Audi will spendthe money needed to right this ship. I would think ever chance to test would be grabbed. I think that mere fact that Ducati have done nothing to the bike over the winter speaks volumes already. To think that they can test and develop a bike during the season just because they now have 2 'factory' teams is extremely niaive from what is supposedly an expreienced crew. To miss official tests as well would certainly suggest to me that they have already written off 2013 completely and will just go through the motions of competing this year, hoping to improve for next year. I pity the 4 riders and it will be a long long year for them  | ||

I bet Audi is working on a brand a new Ducati. and they are just going to patch this model as best as they can. its their first year. Maybe next year Stoner will relize its more fun beating Rossi and will come back. | ||

Yeah right, Maybe Phil Read will return and beat them all on a Norton  If Ducati want to compete they need to do it NOW, or they risk looking even more stupid than they already do. Making Hayden/Spies/Dovi/Iannone ride last years' bike this season is just an insult to them, and rumblings of discontent were apparent from Hayden even at this early stage, before the season starts. Stoner won't be back  | ||

Audi has been there to short of a time to get anythign going of their on. they have to see the peopel they have first and evaluate them. I am sure there wont be any firings til the end of season ifDucati took care of their employees when they made the deal. if not it will be sooner before mid season. then Audi will bring some of their people who will think outside of the box. a whole new aproach to design and maybe by end of season they will be in top 6. next season should be a lot better. but things to truly work need time. | ||

They had the best development rider/team working with them for TWO YEARS and continued to move backwards. It'll take a sea change. Sitting still in the off season while Yamaha and Honda moved the playing field isn't going to help either. | ||

Gary, Hate to say it but.... Stoner isn't going about his life. He is busy still talkin to the press about how he was mistreated by all.... even fans. He is also still rambling about Rossi. He needs to move on if anyone. Nobody in the paddock is slandering him anylonger.He needs to go enjoy his new career. | ||

I think Mr. Stoner is one of those people who do things without considering the ramifications of what they did and too much pride to eat crow to undo what he has done. Face it he retired too young and he doesn't have anything to fill the competitive spirit that people like him have. His passion is motorcycles not racing Sedans in some national series. It would be like Colin Edwards coming back home and racing in the Craftsman Truck Series. | ||

Stoner was typical of a lot of Aussie racers... unbelievable talent with all the personality of a rabid Tasmanian Devil. From Wayne Gardner to Mat Mladin, Stoner is in good company. | ||

Gary sorry no we arent. We say something when Stoner moans in his typical womenly fashion even after his retirement. But if you have followed this thread I Have more then once have said I'll miss his riding but not Drama he brings to the table. There more to champion then what he has accomplished on the track. Its also how he conducts himself on and off also. | ||

That has to be the best one yet he ha ha You may not know, but on the first morning of the Sepang test Rossi was under Stoners lap record pace within the first 10 laps of getting on the bike. Despite the fact that it was a bike he hadn't ridden for 2 years Maybe Stoner could have been as quick as Rossi/Lorenzo/Pedrosa/Marquez, but we'll never know because he threw his toys out fo the pram and sulked off back to the outback The funny thing is that NOBODY at Sepang said they missed him either, not even anyone from HRC. | ||

Trojan Its always easier to race when you know Stoner is not on the same track with you to blow you away whenever he feels like it. The funny thing is that Lorenzo has no competition now and he will win again. | ||

MotoGP can always use their subscription package to televise WSB thru the internet. and then the cable companies can get screwed. peronally I rather watch without goofy commercials. | ||

Pedrosa is not going to win. Stoner is out, but the fact is that Lorenzo is still in MOTO GP and Danny is not as consistent as Lorenzo. | ||

He should have said something to the effect of 'that is water under the bridge' but he can never resist having a dig at riders/organisers/fans and whoever he thinks needs a blast of his bile. I wasn't referring to his latest outburst really, just to his attitude consistently since joining MotoGP (and before that even back to british 125 racing). Stoner has a lot to thank the sport and the fans for, as without them he would not be the pampered millionaire he now is. maybe he should remember that sometimes Not emotional rheteroric really, I just don't like his constant bleating about how he has it so hard and how he has been so badly treated Now I'm just glad he is gone from the sport. I do agree with yoru point about Pedrosa though. Barring injury he is the man to beat this year without doubt. best bike and rider combination in the series at themoment (only just though!). | ||

We all can speculate all we'd like. There are 4 racers that look to be contenders. Pedrosa,Lorenzo,Rossi and Marquez. Any of these guys could pull it off. | ||

It has the potential to be a great year in motogp and wsbk lets hope that Melandri and Marquez can keep their aggression/competitiveness in check in their respective series. | ||

+1 Let's also hope that the top riders don't all get injured before the season starts! Sykes has a broken wrist, Cluzel has a bad arm injury, Checa in hospital with a stomach complaint....and we haven't even got to the first 'official' WSB test yet! Maybe Gino Rea should pack his leathers and head to Australia now! He may get a ride at the last minute after all | ||
