I'm not saying I don't want them there along with their money...

I'm just saying I hope they lose.

They've also pissed me off due to their complete lack of respect and loyalty for any rider that ever rode for them.

Screw Honda... Honda America, Honda Japan, Honda everything. They aren't my style when it comes to racing. I'd prefer that they race because first and foremost I'm a race fan and racing needs all the money it can get as far as I'm concerned... But I'll not root for a honda to win. I'll root for whatever rider to win if they're riding a Honda (Hayden in '06, Stoner etc...) but I'd rather see Honda lose and I'm perfectly justified in the statement. If you don't or won't see it I couldn't care less. It just shows me that either you aren't really paying attention or you don't care.

Whatever... Don't take it personally.

M1Combat: Took the words right out of my mouth. Doesn't matter which arm of Honda it is, they all follow the same drummer. Nicky wins them the World Championship in 2006, and he is IMMEDIATELY cast aside for "Wonder Midget" (who hasn't won them a title at all in the six+ years he's been riding for them). In AMA SBK, Jake Zemke was the ONLY rider to win a race other than Mladin/Spies, yet they dropped him the very next season.

Screw Honda. Let them dump all the money hey earn into the racing series in which they participate, but I hope they NEVER win again.

Other than always being pro-EBR/Buell, I'm quite impartial.

However, the first time I saw a sticker like this on a tuner import it brought a smile to my face.

Honda Hater

Still impartial - just thought it was appropriate,

Jaimec,

Nicky won a title.... barely and his career hasn't been stellar since. Pedrosa's record is hugely stellar in comparison... he just hasn't put the cherry on cake ....yet. Zemke is a great racer still is. He had a pretty long run with the factory team to actually go to funded close to factory team in Erion. Racing is a business if you believe it or not. Its not about treating someone all fuzzy. Nicky wasn't producing point blank..Zemke wasn't producing in Superbike and at the time Formula extreme was changing if memory serves and Zemke stayed with a Honda camp but to Erion and was awesome on a 600. He was always better on the 600 then the Superbike. Duhamel retired from Honda and he gave them zero Superbike Championships but was also awesome on the 600. So its not that they were treated bad. If ya don't produce you get Jousted. Do ya think EBR is gonna keep someone if they are starting to go backwards??? I think not. Now lets talk other teams. Suzuki kicked Aaron Yates to the curb for Hayden. Then Hayden rode for a couple years and got kicked to the curb. Now Young just got kicked to the curb because he didn't produce last year. They are bring cardenas because they feel he will. Spies according to him got treated bad by Yamaha and quit. The first racer in history to quit a factory ride. I have hard time believeing it was all Yamaha's fault all the things went wrong and Ben is perfect. Its going to always be this way with all camp's. If I have a shift at my place of business that is losing business I try to help my employee find the reason and correct it. But if I continue to see sales go down I have to parts ways. Sorry nothing personal but I'm not gonna lose money if I can help it.

Look also that Zemke rode one year with Jordan and let go. Ben Bostrom just got let from them after they had hired Eslick. Didn't even let him know early enough in the season for him to try to find other sponsorship. This is racing and its cut and dry. You wanna ride you gotta show them. Then theres others that won't ride because they won't get paid enough. Zemke just posted that on his FB days ago. I think he stated kinda like this. "If you wanna pay less you get what you pay for." Well guess what he isn't riding as of right now. It is what it is.

Bads1, did you SEE the bike they built for the 800 era?? No WAY was a normal-sized human being going to fit on that bike. Even when Nicky was already champ, they completely forgot about him. And it was Honda that rammed the hated 800cc era down our throats in the first place... thinking that it would give their mini-racer an advantage (they were WRONG).

As for Nicky since then, well... only Casey was ever able to do ANYTHING with the Ducati and compared to the other riders who've been on that career-killer, he's fared pretty well.

What's your take on the cheating Dana? Don't tell me "Everybody's doing it" either. Various teams get caught every once in a while for sure, that sucks. Honda got booted from F1 for something like a half of a season for cheating. It wasn't their first time so the FIA made an example AND... they tried to lie about it after they got caught.

HONDA did... Not the F1 team... HONDA.

Even when Nicky was already champ, they completely forgot about him.

The truth is that Honda (or most observers) didn't expect Hayden to win the title that year and had already planned their new bike many months ahead of the end of the season. In fact Pedrosa was always the much better prospect than Hayden at Honda and crucially his signing persuaded Repsol to remain with the team. Pedrosa has won many many more GP's than Nicky and has only missed out on the title by shear bad luck and injury. I think you must admit he will be regarded as the favourite for 2013 ahead of Lorenzo, regardless of your personal opinion of him.

Nicky has won very few GP's in his long career (all spent as a factory rider) and I think he is lucky to still have a ride in the series at all right now. He remains with the team mostly because Audi think he helps Ducati sell bikes in the US, and he doesn't rock the boat too much. He is not there because they think he is a race/championship winner for the future.

I think everyone likes Nicky Hayden (including me) but GP racing is a cut throat business and I would rather see a younger and more hungry rider in Nickys place at Ducati next year. Whether that rider is American, European or martian shouldn't matter of course, but for commercial reasons it will.

Plenty of riders have been poorly treated by other teams as well as Honda, including Phil read (yamaha) and Barry Sheene (Yamaha & Suzuki!) amongst others.

" I think you must admit he will be regarded as the favourite for 2013 ahead of Lorenzo"

He did finally learn how to use a brake lever it seems, so he may have a chance. That said... I don't see Pedro as being the champ next season given a fair (roughly equal mechanical, health, etc issues) fight.

Don.... yes cheating. Suzuki got blasted for internal engine parts a few years ago. Yamaha is and was blamed for cheating with the front faring being of WSB. The two holes in the front faring on the R1's are Ram air units and not stock. They may or may not have them anylonger Its not clear to me. Yamaha said they'd pull out of Superbike last year if they were made to sop using electronics. Hell yes they all whine and complain. Its racing and if they didn't do this we wouldn't be talking about it. I'm hoping to see Kawasaki come back. Not just one bike with Rapp.

The redesigned R1s have ALWAYS had RAM air. On the street bikes there are headlights in those holes, but the scoops are still there behind them. In SBK, the absence of the headlights makes them more efficient funnels.

The only difference between the 2011 YZF-R1 that Hayes rode in '11, and the '12 model is the addition of Factory traction control, something Hayes (at the beginning of the year) said he really didn't think he needed, but it put the Yamaha on equal footing with the other bikes in the series.

As for Suzuki's cheating, Mladin was simply the target of DMG's management. Spies and Mladin were using the exact same crankshafts, yet Mladin got dinged and Spies was given a free pass. The difference? DMG didn't like all of the criticism Mladin kept feeding the press. Spies kept his mouth shut.

Jaimec,

Theres write up on it in I believe Roadracing world. The headlight holes that you are referring to are the ram air. Do you see anyone else with modded farings?? They said the front of the faring was larger then production as well as the Ram air holes

As far as Suzuki??? It doesn't matter if Spies got caught or not.... they did it regardless if he was a target.

Forks are different ,frame, subframe, swingarm, fuel, and tank are all different.

Wonder whats been done to the motor?

don't you have to win races to be in a position to ask what you should get paid.
hayes comes to mind to me as the ONLY one that could ask what he wants to get paid.

Bads1, look at a stock R1. See those holes in which the headlights are mounted? Those are RAM AIR scoops. The only difference between the SBK and the stock model are the headlights which block some (but not all) of the airflow in the stock model.

Second paragraph from the bottom, last sentence:

The front has the same classic R1 shape, though the air intake location and headlamp design have been revamped on the 2009 model; utilizing only projector lamps, and using the new-found design space within the nose cone to reroute ram air tubes next to the lights.

If you look at pictures of the WSB and AMA yamaha R1 you'd see that the fairings are actually different in a few areas, and the seat unit and fuel tank are entirely different. I'm sure somebody would have noticed the difference even in the DMG/AMA organisation!

To be honest I doubt if the use of the WSB fairing alone would give any boost in performance other than being extremely light weight carbon (which isn't outlawed by AMA is it?). They would also need the WSB airbox etc to get any performance benefit from it. The biggest difference between the stock and WSB R1 is the sitting of the fuel tank (more under the seat on the WSB bike) and the design of the seat and tail unit.

Well I sent a message to David Swartz in regards to the fairing on the Graves bikes. And yes it led to Controversy with the teams and AMA because AMA let it go and made it legal. His words to me.

"The area where the air intakes are is different. If you pull up pictures of Josh Hayes bike from 2011 and compare them to 2012 you will see the changes".

I'm not saying hes cheating and makes it beneficial to the performance of the bike or does it... who knows. I'm saying is the body work has to be of what the factory bike off the sales room floor is. EBR isn't aloud to use carbon fiber or modify it. Why does yamaha get to is all. And back to the orginally talking about..... they all try to bend the rules...... WHERE THEY CAN.

Changing the subject... I just heard the ONLY man to beat Josh Hayes more than once last year... the man who ran him to the bitter end in 2011, hasn't yet been resigned for Suzuki?? WTF??
