CRT are second to factory bikes. no question about it.
and then you got the factory riders compared to the CRT riders.
2 different skills.
NIcky should be in CRT

CRT are second to factory bikes. no question about it.

Of course they are. That is the whole point of CRT...to make AFFORDABLE GP bikes available to privateer teams and bolster what were ridiculously low grid numbers. Not even the more well heeled satellite teams such as Tech 3 could afford to buy factory spec bikes or to upgrade them as often as the factory teams do, so there will alway sbe a big discrepancy between the front and the back of the grid.

However, this isn't a new phenomenon that has suddenly appeared with CRT. There have always been a gap between the 'haves' and the 'have nots' in GP racing going right back to the days of privateers touring Europe on battered old Transit vans and 'over the counter' race bikes, from Manx Nortons to Suzuki RG500's and TZ Yamahas.

When CRT is long forgotten we will still have only 4-6 factory bikes ridden by mega star riders capable of winning races. The rest will pick up what is left as usual, regardelss of the format employed by the organisers.

NIcky should be in CRT

Why? He hasn't performed that well recently but nor has anyone else on a factory Ducati since 2007. I don't think he or Ducati will last much longer in MotoGP unless Ducati can improve drastically (which I doubt) but I don't see him going to a CRT team either. I think he will retire once his factory ride has gone.

Nicky is no youngster any longer, and has been lucky enough to spend his entire MotoGP career racing for factory teams. Would he want to make a move to WSB riding for a team that has far less resources than he is used to?

Does he have what it takes to win a WSB championship? Maybe, maybe not. Going on the record of other GP rfugees he would be in with a decent chance, although the strength in WSB is higher than it has probably ever been for next year. Unless you have the best bike, best tyres and best possible race every weekend it will be struggle for any rider to dominate, even the best ones.

Hes 31 and still younger then quite a few. Max just retired he was in his 40's. And he is just to name one there are others. Many have went to WSB after GP. The list is quite long actually and they have done very well. Nicky comes from a quite the race family. I think he'll be around for some time somewhere.

Good luck to Danny! We will be rooting for him to finish *right* behind the EBR bikes!

: )

I still think it would be incredibly cool if Jordan ran an 1190. They can't have completely forgotten the long term F&^K YOU Suzuki gave them years ago.

Wont happen Bill. Suzuki never gave the F U to Jordan. They just wouldn't give Jordan some factory parts that there own team ran. But those were the days when the factory teams held the cards on parts. Now its a software war.

What else do you call it when Jordan said we want the same parts as Yosh. They were told you don't have enough money. That was bull does anyone think Jordan couldn't get Nike money at least on the short term if he needed it. I call that a big F U.

Hey champ.... hes got nothing to do with Nike any longer. He has own shoe line. And believe it or not there budget isn't anywhere near Yosh's. Where did you read or told they didn't have enough money?? Yosh wasn't releasing parts to anyone. Just like Honda. Funny how people think Jordan is funded like a factory team. Better then most but not the same.

Champ has it pretty much straight. Suzuki basically told him that the really trick parts were no available at any price for a non-factory team. MJ has plenty of his own cash, the factories just didn't want to lose their edge.

Dave I think thats what I said. Yosh wan't going to give them to anyone. Jordan does have plenty of cash... no doubt. He also is a very smart business man and hes not taking money from Peter pay Mary. The team has a budget... its not of a factory team. The team I can tell you wishes it was larger.

Factory teams are in the business of winning races, not selling their trickest parts to their competitors. Whether that is AMA racing or MotoGp the story is the same.

Even the 'factory' satellite teams like Tech 3 and gresini don't get the best parts until the main factory team gets upgrades to replace them.

And Jordan still has a hell of a lot to do with Nike! About a BILLION $$$ in Jordan brand gear per year of which his take is about $30-50million! None of which goes to the team supposedly. I have seen 2 different interviews with him where he stated that the team is fully self sufficient otherwise it would no longer exist as he doesn't want to put his money into it. All sponsorship driven.

Bads, i recall the quote from Jordan in Supervikeplanet as something like Suzuki telling him he couldn't afford it. It was a way of saying they wouldn't offer him the parts at any price but i do recal the "you can't afford it" as the phrase used.

Hes affiliated. His shoe is his line now. You do not see a Nike with Air Jordan on it... nor his clothes.

Dave Superbikeplanet can sometimes choke the hell out of facts. Yoush wouldn't give parts to anyone..... Corona,Versah...etc they were great teams. The factory like Trojan has said, they don't like to share till they have a new and improved parts.

Isn't that part of the problem that a certain Erik Buell is trying to fix. The fact that you spend your money getting to the races building a bike paying the entry fees. And then you get there and you find out you don't have a chance in hell of competing. That is fine if it's prototype racing but this is suppose to be motorcycle version of stock car racing. I don't have a problem if the parts are really expensive but I do have a problem with parts being unobtainiam.

46 Champ, those were past days and yeah your right. But bikes now are alot closer in whats been done. Like I said earlier now its who has developed there teams software. I hope to see that change.... in many forms of racing.
