The announcers talked a lot about new compounds being used for the front brake pads, and Slick and Geoff having different tastes/styles. It was quite apparent that Danny was able to turn on a dime, changing lines halfway through corners. I also enjoyed hearing Russell comment that Young's traction control was a hindrance, since Danny was able to steer with the rear tire. What an amazing race! Congratulations to Danny, Geoff, Erik, and all the crew members!!! Can't wait to see what today brings!!! Hope someone took/takes pictures!!!

OMG! I was screaming at the TV @ 130am this morning.
Eslick is awesome! Many passes per lap.

The bike was on a rail when the Yamaha was very unstable.

Slick was getting passed then repassed when you think he couldn't.

Guess I'm staying up late again....

Yeah, I woke the GF last nite hollering at the TV, as Eslick and Young were just duking it out!

WAAAY too much fun watching that fight, couldn't help myself! Every time the Gixxer muscled past on a straight, the EBR just danced away through the corners- unbelievable how well that thing handles! (But I know how it GOT there- I once had an XB9SX and rode the wheels off it!)

GO EBR!!!

Geoff May lead lap 1, and is now leading lap 3 - this is going to be a good race.

Geoff still leads the race at lap 7 with a 1.3 second gap on Roger Hayden.

1. Josh Hayes
2. Steve Rapp
3. Ben Bostrom
4. Josh Herrin
5. Geoff May

Geoff really slowed down after lap 12. Maybe tires?

Fantastic LENS TIME...... 11 laps led to Hayes 9 laps led. That is a Market man's wet dream. Free upfront time no matter what the tires. GOTTA LOVE IT

Nice start and good results for Goeff.

Wonder what caused Eslick and Young's DNS.

Only a matter of time, with no electronics better than the Best with electronics - EBR may want to keep one bike non-electronic for the next season. Fantastic riding with a great tool!

That Saturday race was a great one to watch. Danny sure puts on a good show when he gets in the mix.

only thing i can find is from RRW:

quote:

Technically, Hayes captured the title after completing the first lap as championship rival Blake Young (along with Saturday runner-up Danny Eslick and Aaron Yates) chose not to participate in the drying-track conditions.

Anyone else hear why Eslick DNS?

For what it's worth, a guy posted on ADVrider that several riders, including Danny, chose not to compete on Sunday as they didn't feel the track was safe to ride in the rain. Apparently there is not much run-off distance for several of the curves.

The announcers said it was because there is at least one corner where the track is slick when wet and the wall is very close.Ben Bostrom was on rain front tire,D.O.T. rear tire,he was the fastest rider on that combo. The KTM was on full rain tires, not sure what May was on,but he did a great job just the same!!

Yes on Geoff's tires and Correct on why riders didn't show. More than one place with not enough run-off in wet conditions. AMA said a huge storm was going to hit during race but it never did. The Guys that went by their prediction and went with the RAINS only had tires for half the race. Geoff's tires were GONE!!!

They should not be racing at Homestead. Not up to Pro standards.
