What fuel would you guys recommend for a a 90 inch motor. I have 10.5 to 1 compression on a fully built motor. I have access to VP fuel not sure if I want to run c25 or something a little lower like c10 or c14

Any advise can help

Lucas

It works something like this. The slower it burns the hotter it gets, so 100 octane burns slower and hotter than C10 which is slower and hotter than C12 or C14.
The issue becomes how much timmIng you need to get your power, the more timing the faster you need it to burn to reduce the chance of detonation. What you want is more gas and less lead, but the lead suppresses the pinging which leads to detonation and ruined motors. So a good rule of thumb is to run the lowest you can against your most advanced timing curve without the engine ratting. If it is pinging on the Dyno pull back a couple of degree of advance or flatten out the curve. But you need to watch what that does to the power curve. If reducing the timing is hurting the power too much, go from C10 to C12 and so on until you get it balanced.

The Bonneville Blast has a CR of 14.5:1 34 deg of adv and runs C14 I am going to try and reduce both the timing and octaine for this comming year.

Hope this helps Terry
