That was fast. The Android app I mentioned earlier was updated again. Now it doesn't crash on start-up.

Native Austinites are especially irritated by the transplants! Possibly due to many of them coming here from California, but yes sir, as of this past year Mr. Green does reside here. Downtown actually. He's attended some MotoGP watch parties at a pro-moto pub downtown with us a few times

In high screwel, we learned "E(th)panol Ca(th)tiliano" and when I started meeting Puerto Rican and Mexican and Central/South American friends - I soon realized that it sounded kind of like a redneck pretending to speak Oxford English at a tea party.

I learned.

Track was damp/wet in first practice, which flatters the Ducatis more than the others. De Puniet and Capirossi were near the top of the time sheets most of the session too. Once the track dries for this afternon expect business as normal, although with such a reduced field it has to be the Ducatis best hope for a podium all year!

Hayes did pretty well for his first try on a GP bike on an unfamiliar track and in the wet no less. At least he kept it on 2 wheels.

Josh has a real challenge ahead. There is so little practice time at these races already and then to have two session wet is really a shame. He now has more time in the wet than the dry so a wet race would really be something he should hope for.

If it is dry I hope the we see him getting faster and faster as the race progresses and that he stays upright. He is going to have almost no chance to adjust things he does not like so this is a real tough deal for him.

Hopefully the team is impressed with ow he conducts himself and how he communicates what the bike doing. If he does well with this, does not crash and keeps cutting faster laps he will give himself a chance for more opportunities.

How old is he?

Just watched the tribute to Sinomcelli live on MotoGP.com. It was kinda lame. Watching Moto2 live and already looking forward to next season and all the changes it will bring. Will miss seeing Simoncelli ride and his presence at the races. Gresini's 2 bikes are 1st and 2nd in the race so far

Hayes was a second faster than the rest of the field in the morning warmup in the wet. I am hoping for some rain!

Spies Yamaha is so much better on the brakes than the two Hondas in front of him, but just gets yarded down the straights. Must be incredibly frustrating.

7th place for Hayes is a fantastic finish. Wish the Ducatis didn't get taken out by Bautista. Great finish though for the first time on the track and that bike.

Looking forward to next year and seeing how Dovi does on the Tech3. He was riding very spirited today.

Never said who won. The race was one of the more exciting ones of the season. Which I know isn't saying much with how boring the races have been this year.

Any result spoiler can take fun out of watching the race, especially for fans of those who's race outcome is reported. Just asking that we avoid or at least announce "warning, spoiler alert follows" as lead-in to post. REALLY don't want to argue. I myself usually peak ahead at results on RRW. Patience is not one of my virtues.

19. Hayes, 9
20. Kousuke Akiyoshi, 7
21. John Hopkins, 6
22. Shinichi Ito, 3

I peaked at the race finishing order and intervals on RRW. Am jazzed to see the race! Just fifteen thousandths of a second for the win!

Next year should be very interesting! Go Elbowz!

Hayes performed well given the incredible challenges he faced, short notice, rain then dry, new track, new bike, new team.

Nice finish to the season for Cal.

Kinda cool that Simocelli ended up tied with Rossi.

Rossi mist be relieved that this nightmare season for him is finally over. Heal up "Doctor!"

Great result for Spies, especially considering how physically knocked about he has been over the past few weeks. Dovi was keen for third place! Taking out Bautista and then, in consequence, Rossi, Hayden and De Puniet was a bit of an achievement. I hope he wasn't too harassed at the after-party.

Bautista turned into Dovi. Even the announcers changed their opinion after watching it again.

Blake- I hadn't seen anyone do that on posts just thread titles. Will take note for next year.

Bautista cut across Dovi at the start. When Dovi accelerated past Bautista he, Dovi, turned across to reclaim his line into the corner. In doing so he clipped Bautista's front wheel with his rear. (At least that's what I think I saw.)

Replays showed Dovi going straight, and Bautista moving in too close behind him.

No word from Matt? Don't tell me he fell asleep watching THAT race!?

That's how I saw it too Jaime. Besides, the man in back is always the one most responsible for avoiding collision.

I'm thankful no one was seriously hurt.

Dovi was on Bautista's left going into a left corner so it would be strange for Dovi to turn up into Bautista. Like Jaime said the replays should Dovi was going straight and Bautista was too close and clipped his rear. Which is really too bad because that Suzuki was finally getting more competitive. Hopefully they stick around for next year.

The Marco tribute on TV was great. The last part with him autographing the camera brought a tear to my wifes and my eyes. He will be missed.

No word from Matt? Don't tell me he fell asleep watching THAT race!?

I watched the 125 and Moto2 races, then I watched the start of the MotoGp race, lost interest after the first lap crash and then lost the will to live after 5 laps and switched off.

I have it recorded so may have to watch it now after all!

Having said that, with most of the major podium contenders already out, it was the best chance for Spies/Dovi/Crutchlow to fight for their best results of the year. The fact that Stoner still managed to win makes me think I won't bother watching it back again....

Roll on the 2012 season please!

Watch it, Matt. It's worth the time investment. It was a very good race, 1st corner crash notwithstanding.
