Guys, the way I'm reading this thread, the race ecm has engine kill functions programmed into it. Further, unless I'm just completely full of crap, an air shifter switch can be wired into the kickstand switch to activate this function. Which means no buying/wiring and engine/fuel kill switch into the system for air shifter use. Am I reading this wrong? I'd like some input before I email E-B-R for verification.

Do you have the pre-programmed, or fully programmable ? You're gonna need a way to adjust kill time. I just pulled a VERY small amount of duration out of my MPS and picked up a 10th and 3 mph. Going to slowly keep pulling out more, until it misses, then add a smidge. I would assume that with an off the shelf ecm, you'd have no adjustment....but you have sparked my interest for sure!

Mines pre programmed. I completely forgot about needing to be able to adjust kill time. Even if you can, who wants to hook up a laptop after every pass at a test and tune? Your MPS unit, is it the one that kills at the coil or kills the fuel. I'm having troubled deciding which to get. I'm not sure the coil kill they have for v twins is for twins with more than one coil. Hows it work for you Bott?

Mine is the coil kill type. It works perfectly. The unit is for UP TO 4 cylinder. You just don't use 2 of the kill wires. Its basically universal - 4 kill wires, all the same color so ya cant get it wrong. MPS boxes are the tried and true standard. I know several people that run other brands of air shift, but only use MPS kill boxes.

I run the adjustable ECM and do not use these functions. As stated above the laptop scenerio isn't anything I want to get into.... yet

I run the Dyna/Pingel stuff with good results.

Ask Mike1125R about the Erik Buell Racing ECM functions as I believe he is/was using them.
