Dick was the owner of Bison racing who supported Walt Sipp for a couple of years.

Big Buell supporter and iron butt rider / drag racer / mechanic.

as I posted in the quick board, the world is at a loss with him being gone. I've never heard a bad word about the man.
I knew him through his dragracing, he was a huge supporter of AHDRA and harley dragracing.
my thoughts go out to his family and friends, I wish I'd had the chance to get to know him better

Words can not describe.....

Dick was probably the most "real" person I've ever met. He was more than a sponsor and more than a friend. He stood behind me through thick and thin. He supported me even though he never really had anything to gain.

Dick and I met here, through Bad Web. I was without a ride - or money after the 2006 racing season. I put up a post and he answered. He had an XBRR begging to be raced. One thing led to another, and soon I was realizing my dream of racing in the Daytona 200.

We would go on to race the 2007, 2008 and 2009 AMA seasons as well as 4 straight Daytona 200's - even one on a Yamaha.

He continued to support my racing right up to the end. We drag raced together most recently, but he still provided the roadrace bike in which I won on the very weekend he lost his life.

Dick invested in me more than money - he believed in me as an individual which allowed me to push the limits to where I never thought possible in life - or on a track. He and I butted heads often, but we always knew where each other was coming from. In many ways we were very much alike - never one to back down or give in. Always driven to win and be the best.

Again, words can not describe....

Wherever he is now, I'm sure he's still kicking ass.....

Goodbye Dick, the world has lost a good one.

I got the great pleasure of working with Dick and Walt during the 2010 Daytona 200. Dick was the fire person and I was the fuel man for Walt during that race. Dick and I worked the pits together taking lap times. Watching Walt and doing pit stops together. The nicest guy with great passion for motorcycles (Buells). A Daytona I will never forget. Thank you Walt... Most of all, Thank you Dick GodSpeed my friend.

I too spent a Daytona 200 week with Dick and Walt to be the first Buell XBRR to finish the 200 in 2007. I have many memories of Dick at the races, always the smile like in the picture above.
Thanks Dick, you set the level for all of us to be good competitors and follow our passion for racing and riding motorcycles.

Will miss Dick on the board and will always remember a very interesting telephone conversation with him. Yeah we talked about that Walt Sipp character; the first man ever to complete the Daytona 200 on a Buell. : )

Thanks for sharing that Walt. It is a very sad unfortunate loss.

Sad to hear about Dick.

I remember the first time I saw and rode the Going to The Sun Highway.
It was during a very bad time in my life but I remember thinking, "If I have to die I could die happy riding here."

Godspeed Dick.

I too had many fond conversations with Dick about motorcycles and airliners. I got to spend time with him at Barbers a couple of years ago. He was truly an ambassador for bikes and will be sorely missed by many.
This report is from another board:

Farewell Dick…..RIP

Rumor has it…..

What the Sheriff's Office told GB&U staff was that Dick in Glacier NP, was following two cars. Apparently, there was a fair amount of park traffic in both lanes. With no warning, the lead car decides (as it is passing a turn-out/small parking lot) to slam on the brakes trying to pull into the turn-out.

The second car slams on it's brakes to avoid hitting the lead car.

Dick tried to brake/swerve to avoid the cars, but clipped the rear fender of the second vehicle at a very slow speed, getting tossed off the bike and landing in the oncoming lane, where oncoming traffic struck him.
