I posted this question on the 1125R board and they directed me here. I need a tether cord to race at my local strip. Where do I get a good one? How do I install it? I used to drag race cars, but this will be my first bike. Thanks. | ||

as stated - Pingel Spend the extra money on the metal ones, not the plastic one. I first had a plastic one and over time it sort of 'wore out' I had to connect to it just right to get it to work properly. And more than once did it mess up on me Go the nicer unit and havent had a single issue | ||

I know I can afford a real tether however we have used simple key chain cords from the home centers for years. They are a whopping $3 at best.   | ||

Sort of. I found with my hand/arm position that when I rolled my arm all the way down I wasn't going full throttle. I made countless passes this way until I figured it out. I had to reposition myself so my arm/elbow was quite a bit forward in order to hit WOT when I rotated my wrist. A quicker throttle ramp would work here and I did purchase one (never installed it). Another lesson learned. | ||

Gotcha. Yes, I've been in the same boat before, learning where to put my hand so that I am certain to be at WOT. Its something interesting, when riding on the street you dont think about it cause its not needed really. But on the track you really need to be there | ||

A two wire trailer plug is the most reliable kind of plug...hook one end up in series with your factory kill....solder the two wires on the other half together,install lanyard (I used a boot string and gator clip). It will never get sloppy and cause intermittant problems. All commercial kills will eventually get sloppy and have connection problems.  |
