Whoa, its Tuesday night and I finally got all of the parts in and the swingarm is now off of the bike. The steel unit is drying, threw some black paint on it to cover up the tangerine metallic color that was on there. Tomorrow put the swingarm parts together and in the arm/bike etc Put the chain on Put the exhaust on Still have to get a longer brake line. Still have to get the bars altered for the new arm Really coming down to the wire... |

I will have my lift and tools at the track bring it there in pieces and we can finish it up. |

We'll see, might have to take you up on that haha But really, if I can get it onto the trailer then its close enough to wrap up within an hour or so. Biggest thing will be the fab shop, making sure they have time on Thursday to do my stuff. If not I'll get it done first thing Friday. I WILL be at Rock by 2pm, I want to be there at least one hour before TNT starts When do you expect to get there? Doing the TNT session? |

No TNT, I know it will run 10.90 all day everyday as long as I don't screw up. If I TNT that's just more wear and tear for something else to break. I plan on leaving DC around 6 or 7 in the morning but with gas being $4 a gallon I won't be in no hurry. I will also have my 8 year old with me who likes to stop every hour to use the bathroom so with any luck I will be there by 2. In reference to the other post, another badwebber hooked me up with the ECMSpy in a zipped file so I got my bread and butter back. |

no problem bro Im pitting with my 'teammates' over by the gas pump area Come and hang for a bit. Black trailer, Blue SUV, red Buell. I'll be pitting with a guy on a black VRod, and HOPEFULLY Bobbys Nitro HD will be completed. I spoke with him last night and Johnny Vickers wasnt sure if the pipes and wiring would be done or not, but he was going to push hard to get it ready Lots to do today, hopefully it all works out. We had a hell of a time with the left side isolator bolt, damn thing WOULD NOT come out, it would just spin and spin and spin. I swear we spent two hours on JUST that bolt. One that was out everything else went pretty good, considering it was our first time removing a buell swingarm. |

If it spun you broke the pin that goes into your frame to hold the isolator from spinning. Not a problem I did this the first time I changed isolators. I went to Lowe's and bought a pin and cut it to size and used a metal epoxy to secure it in there and it's still there three years later. Don't loosen the bolts on the swingarm before you loosen the isolator bolts, that's what holds it from spinning. I will come pay you a visit. If you need something give me a call I sent you the # before, I have a ton of extra parts with me. |

Yeah, the pin was bent at about 45* angle I'd actually already order 4 of the pins, so I'll STILL have 3 extra (20c a piece, why not). Youre right, thats where I messed up, I loosened the pinch bolt. Even with it tightened back we had issues, the iso was already trashed and pin broke, so it kept spinning. Again, we got it out, but it was a bitch. I dont have a lot of extras, but know locals and others that do - so same for you - if you forget something then please call me. If youre on the way and realize you forgot a tool or something, just call. I am really looking forward to trying the new setup, hearing the new exhaust etc |

Willie I dont have your number, I looked through my emails for the one you sent with it and I couldnt find it. I had wanted to call you tonight Force Exhaust - with my stock header the exhaust flange would press flush against the head. On the Force it wont, which I though it looked longer, so im not super concerned, but it'd be nice to know its normal (and i really know it is since someone else had it on their bike before, but I guess I just need to hear its all ok haha) Man, swapping swingarms and dealing with the isolators and such BLOWS. Jesus I hated that stuff, so much harder than what I figured. With the bike as low as it is, and then the extended arm - the rear tire was hitting the frame at the taillight, bummer. So dad grabbed a hacksaw and we corrected the issue. So tomorrow that'll be one more thing the race shop (Hedgecock Racing in High Point) will be doing, welding in extensions where we cut it apart. Really coming down to the wire. Please PM me again with your number, I really dont know what happened to the first one |
