Romine won TOP FUEL , RAY PRICE runner up.Now to the part you will all like!! Final rounds of street et through V ROD---- First out Buell and Harley Buell won. Second out Buell and Harley Buell won. Third round Buell and Harley Buell won. 4TH round Buell and Buell One guess. Fifth round VROD and VROD with a Buell front end -Buell front end won!!!! Good weekend no rain like predicted. Only dissapointment was PRO GAS , three bikes running between 9.20 and 9.33. My 43 year old Iron Head PRO GASSER runs consistant 8.80s at 155MPH and I didn't bring HER. Would have been an easy weekend.

This part confuses me, what rounds or outs are you talking about?
As for 'street et', in the ET class the finals were between a VRod and a Buell. Kevin Winters on a tuber and Gene Jennings on a VRod. I was with Gene, we rode down together from NC - Kevin didnt win ET, Gene did. At first Stevie (announcer) said Kevin won, but the timing booth dont lie (unless there are lizards in it lol like this weekend), Jennings won.

Yes, there were lean feilds all across.
Pro Gas - was hoping the Browne boys would be down with their turbo bike. Oh well, Im sure they'll be down at Rockingham

Guy-GLover, are you a racer? What you race? Real name? We'll have to meet up at the next race you and I are both at.

Weather was great, not like predicted.
Track blows. The staff is the worst I've ever seen and many people will agree with me on that including one owner of a bike that had a gun pulled on him when he was trying to get into the gates Saturday morning.

I am really hoping AHDRA doesnt go back down there. If they do I dont know if I will go back.
We pay our 50 bucks for a weekend pass and then the track wants another 10 to get in for Friday night. THats bogus. They say its cause of 'the show' for TNT, well TNT was cancelled due to rain and all they did was give a raincheck.

I hear they locked the bathrooms up at 7pm Friday night....great you got people staying the night and you close the only bathrooms at 7????
Not to mention they placed the 3 portajohns NEXT TO the bathrooms. Oh ok....why not space them out among the facility so everyone doesnt have to go so far to get to them? And if youre going to walk to the portajohn you'll probably walk the extra 30 feet to the real bathroom

Really happy for my buddy Gene to get his first win
I am happy about my RTs, I was on point Sunday, and I ran consistent.

Looking forward to racing in my backyard in a little under two months - Rockingham spring race!

Hybrid- Could have sworn that was Romine, or was Horne riding for him? I was rootin for Ray Price. Can't hear very well from the stands during TOP FUEL.I did hear Winters won that pass and not the correction. My regards to your Buddy Gene on his first win. I was only there on Sunday, were you guys rained out on Saturday? Years back about 4 sanctions would come all the way to Miami but slowly worked North. That race is the closest to S. Fla. we have anymore. There was races every year at Bradenton and Gainsville but not sure anymore are run there. Shame- But it cost you guys North a lot of travel expense to come this far South THUS bad turnouts. My screen name is my real name. Raced the east coast starting in 71 but didn't get serious until early 80's.I ran the same IRON HEAD in Modified till I set both ends of the record then went on to Altered to do the same. Built a new 8 in. tire chassis in I believe 86 to run Pro Drag/Gas and set the record to 8.92 at 149.90 in Gainsville [Dragbike] sanction. Bikes best time was 8.82 at 155 back in 1988. Won the ECRA race at ATCO that year against Danny Fitzmaurice. Now theres a track that gets a good turnout every year.Haven't run the bike since 2001 but it's sitting here with a fresh motor on a shelf 12 feet high in the den. Since I bought my first Buell I've been messing around at track days and not drags but I still like to go watch. Good luck to you in Rockingham- only ran there once.

I think Mike Romine helps tune the bike, and its Romines equipment that the Hornes bought, but Doug rides it.

I like Price too, but Horne is just too easy to root for - heres a young guy thats super nice and extremely talented.
Tommy Grimes is cool, and I always pull for him, and it was awesome that those two bikes met up for the finals, but on that one I was rooting for Horne.
Ray Price has the heritage and hes sort of local (Im in the Triad of NC, hes 90 miles west), plus they did a lot of racing with AMA and showing those boys that HDs could run!
I want them to do well, but like I said, I like Horne more and hes so damn fast

if you can make it up to Rockingham you should consider it. Its a great track and there are always records being broken at the race there (in fall). This is the first time they are doing a spring and fall race.
Example - a few months ago back in September Doug Horne set the new AHDRA Top Fuel MPH record there - 235mph! Thats moving!

If you come up, let me know, always nice to meet other buell enthusiasts

Yeah, at first Stevie announced that Kevin won the race, dont know why cause the 'Win' light was on the right lane (Winters loved the left lane this weekend, most of the bar bikes did)

No, we didnt get rained out Saturday, was a great day outside of some strong side winds around noon.
We were pitted at the 1000' mark, so we were standing there watching the Nitro bikes run first round qualifying - it was a bit scary watching them cause they were SO close to the wall if they were in the Right lane.

Rained Friday, but after that just a little drizzle here and there that really didnt delay the track much at all.
